@Lina: dude i sooo feel that. i use paint tool sai and geez.. the stabilizer tool is amazing. i don't blame you for giving all the credit to that XD but you knowww, you're the one that actually did the work!

@ephenay: I mostly use the pen, which is so much crisper and smoother than photoshop can do.
But I love the line tools! Sometimes I just need a straight line, or a perfect circle. OuO

@Lina: yess, the pen is pretty sweet for sure. i never could figure out photo shop since I'm kind of a dummy but sai was really easy to get used to. i love everything about that program. i know how to make straight lines, but how do you make perfect circles? I've been hand drawing them this whole time o-o and they're not perfect to say the least lmao
@ephenay: Using the bendy line tool, you click one spot on the page then rotate the canvas with the hotkey, click again in the same place without moving the mouse, and rotate/click until you have a perfect circle. My rotate shortcut is 'delete' but I don't know if it's the same on all versions.
@Lina: oh shit. i had no idea you could do it that way, makes sense. thanks for the tip! I'll definitely try it out whenever i have to draw perfect circles again :)

@Lina: that's actually really smart :O i need to do that now!! and watch more artist streams. it's insane how much you can do with a program if you just know it. that's the hard part lol
@Wildfire: sai is pretty nice! I've used it for years and it never gave me much problem. it's a great program to use, even as a beginner or hobbyist. it has a nice linework feature if you like tweaking lineart as well. i wish i knew more of the ins and outs x) i just use it very simply

That was also more when I knew artists on avatar forums that streamed.

@Lina: watching how other people work is a real eye opener. i wish people streamed more since i would definitely come sometime. i don't feel like i know the program extensively but at the same time, i suppose you don't neeeed to.
for a long time i was afraid of line art, so i would paint a lot. i miss being able to use one layer, it's really fun. I think I've just lost some ability over my art hiatus ;; it really sucks, but being around other artists helps a lot. others inspire me more than anything else :> joining this site seriously is having an awesome impact on me! i hope you're getting the good art vibes, too <3 what other avatar site were you on?
