First there was a shortage on christmas trees cause it wasn't a good growing season.
So they were sold out pretty quick.
Then when we went to cut down a christmas tree yesterday, out on outskirts of town,
the chainsaw stopped working as soon as it touched the tree.
We didn't have a saw or axe as backup,
I assumed my dad would have one in the truck cause he had a firewood business.
Today my dad went back for the tree, but couldn't find it,
even tho it was down a specific road past 4 telephone poles and right across from a 4 mile marker.
So he had to come back into town, wake me up and bring me out to find the tree.
We find it, cut it down, bring it home. I'm pruning and cleaning it up a bit outside when i notice something.
Little white specks, i scrap a few off, under it is a small bit of black gunk.
google it, and it's 'pine needle scales' a insect. it's infested. we can't use the tree.

screw it, i shove a hacksaw into my purse, the area behind my house is a wooded area,
I cut down a tree and toss it over my back fence all sneaky like.
it's against some law or bylaw or something to cut down christmas trees in city limits without a permit.

next year i want a fake tree.
