Forums Serious Talk Dramatic Customer

Donator — Female Posted 7 years ago ( 2017/08/31 03:25:15 )
Wow, a customer tried to exchange a curling iron without a receipt, and I told her we can't do any exchange or refund without a receipt. She got all dramatic and started yelling at me and telling customers I was being rude to her. People are ridiculous and that was not acceptable at all and she even said, "I hope you get fucked in the ass".

Luckily, I have a thick skin, so I stayed calm and just ignored the whole drama. When you do your job, and people try to make you feel like shit for following the store policy.

People like that are the reason retail is a soul sucking job, ugh.

Ugh, I know how you feel. I worked at Walmart for a while and before that I was a telemarketer, and before that a waitress. The customer service industry is a nightmare to work in. I've had so many customers tell me to off myself, insult me, cuss at me and try to get me fired over things that genuinely were not my fault. So glad to be away from that line of work.

@Slytherclaw: It really is, it can drain the living soul out of you. You can be giving an amazing customer service all day, but one person can ruin it all for the rest of the day.

@Astal Ninja: awww, that's horrible. I have been in this industry for a few years now, and it doesn't get any better. There will always be people that try to get you fired because they have nothing better to do. Especially people that come in with bad intentions.

@Elithiya: Yeah, that was so uncalled for. She even said, "fat bitch, come here" but I didn't go. Lmao she was the one that's fat, I'm not even fat.

@Elithiya: I was not having it lmao, and I just brush it off. I know I'm an amazing employee for the company, so the manager kinda got my back too.

I'm a CSM at a Wal-Mart in a bad side of town, so we have officers here from the time we open to the time we close. If anyone ever starts cussing at one of my associates they are called over immediately and the person is escorted out. I will not stand for my associates to be disrespected like that. :vanora_angry:

Ugh, I had situations like that when I worked customer service in Kmart.... I know people say "the customer is always right" but there have been many time when they were just completely wrong....
Technically though there was one way for us to do a no receipt return, but it was a pain in the ass and they'd only get store credit... I had someone get pissed at me for having to give them a gift card because of a no receipt return even though I TOLD THEM they would only get store credit and they said that was fine.... orz

I worked at McDonald's for a good few years. I had one dude make a burger order and I couldn't follow along because me being out of it (It was an overnight shift and this happened at like, 2-3 in the morning) and his unnecessarily complicated wording made it difficult. xD

Eventually I heard him mention that he had an allergy so I asked him what it was so I could just let back end know to make certain it wouldn't be a problem. But this guy got SUPER short with me. Eventually his taxi driver had to tell him to calm down, I just wanted to double check to make sure that I got his order right and eventually it gets to the point where I have to close the drive thru window to get a manager cause this dude is being ridiculous.
WELL, he didn't like that I did that I guess cause now he's getting out of his cab and banging on my window. Dude tried to bust it open with a rock. The taxi ditched this guy and went to the second window where my manager was and told them he was phoning the cops.

Sad thing is, stuff like this happens in the area I used to work in. Nobody liked working the overnight shifts at that place. ; A;

@Panda: That happens to me too because I work in retail and some customers are so annoying and rude and then if you get a manager like they ask, sometimes the manager will let it go and tell you to do it for them. That annoys me. If it's something the customer is wrong about, they shouldn't get their way. I don't care about them XD

Ah yes...the retail world.
I once carded a woman for a beer purchase (I carded her every time because it was store policy and because she looked young enough for it to be iffy) and she flipped out and started screaming at me and calling me names and saying that I always hit on her boyfriend every time he was in the store. And I just calmly stated that it was store policy to card (which set her off again) and calmly stated that I didn't know who her boyfriend was (which resulted in a "bullshit you don't" exclamation) and that I was sorry if it seemed like I was flirting, but it wasn't my intention and I would try not to do it again (again seemed to spur on her anger). Basically, I was as calm and polite as I could possibly be.
I was literally shaking by the time she left and someone had to come relieve me for a few minutes so I could sit and calm down.

Lol jfc I applaud all of you for dealing with such BS situations.
I also work for a restaurant as a cashier/waitress and the worst I had to deal with was this lady trying to order sushi in under 5 minutes. Basically she orders food, and I ring her up for it. She orders around 3 things and she was overall being really sassy and tells me that she needs to bring her son to the ER so she needs the food made fast. All the things she ordered was generally things that can be made quickly and I was sure to tell my manager who was also my cook for the day that our customer was in a hurry. In literally 2 minutes the customer starts screaming at me saying that she NEEDS to go now and threatened to call the police. My manager overhears this and comes out to the front to apologize and let her know that the order was almost done. The customer just gets more sassy and rude to me after my manager goes back to the kitchen to finish the order, and in about a minute the order comes out. I hand the order to the customer and she just takes the food all grumpy then calls the police right in front of me. Luckily my manager at the time kept the receipts to keep record of how long things actually took (that whole ordeal took about 4 minutes). The cops showed up laughing after we explained what happened.

I hate people. Sorry that happened to you.

I've been fired from a few jobs because I've anger issues and I get a bit too much pleasure out of vengeance seeking.
But when I was a teacher, I cut that shit. I spent big money and worked my ass off to get to be one, I wasn't about to blow it by making myself feel good for five minutes.
I had so many parents who got pissed off at me for failing their kid or giving their "angel" detention. A lot of them even claimed I did these things just because I didn't like their snot nosed mongrel. I graded fairly. If their work was deserving of a bad grade, they got one. If also didn't give out detentions easily. I have a life and kids. I don't want to spend more time at work with some brat than I have to. If a kid got detention, they damn well deserved it.
