Sierra sighed lightly.

"I really do not wish to do so, though." She commented.

"But I do realise that it may be what is for the best." She paused a moment before shaking her head.

"Anyhow, I am going to go and call him. I will speak with you after." She then said before stepping out of the shower.

About fifteen minutes later, she was sitting on the loveseat that was in the bedroom and calling Sharp via her cell phone.

"Hello, Sharp." She greeted after he'd answered.

"I wish to speak with you regarding my resignation. If you happen to have the time to do so. If not, we can arrange a time for such a discussion."

There was silence on the other side for a moment.

"Resignation." he then said.

"I see." he muttered.

"Well, this sort of thing IS best done face-to-face." he told her.

"And I can free up time RIGHT NOW for this." he went on.

"Assuming that works for you?"

"Of course." Sierra said with a nod, even though he couldn't see it.

"I am unable to access the building though. If you would like me to come to you, then please arrange with Jacob that I will be arriving, and that I am who I say I am - my ID is no longer valid." She continued after a second or two.

"Unless you would prefer to come here."

"Describe yourself." Hal responded.

"Physically." he told her.

She did so, and Hal nodded to himself.

"Right." he said.

"5 minutes." he told her.

"Show up in 5 minutes, and I will be there personally to escort you to my office." he said further.

"Is that all right?"

"Of course. Thank you." Sierra said with a soft smile to her voice. She was most certainly grateful he was willing to help out as he was.

Sure enough, five minutes later while Hal was talking with Jake, they both felt a rather stunning degree of mana come from the small room that was ment for mana arrivals, before Sierra stepped out and approached.

"Hello." She said cordially.

"....." both Hal and Jake were silent as they felt the mana, before Jake sighed.

"Hello again." he greeted her.

"Yes... yes, this is Sierra." Hal confirmed.

"I guess this is what she looked like in life." he commented.

"Fair enough, then." Jake said.

"Sorry." he apologised to Sierra.

"Was just doing my job." he shrugged.

"It is perfectly all right." Sierra said with a soft smile.

"No harm done." She added before looking to Hal

"Shall we, then?" She asked.

Hal nodded.

"We shall." he replied.

The two of them then headed through the hallways, before reaching his office, to which they both entered.

"All right then." he said, as they sat down, him behind the desk, her in front of it.

"Tell me." he said further.

"Why do you wish to tender your resignation?" he asked her.

"Why do you want to leave us?"

"It is not so much that I want to leave." Sierra told him honestly before sighing lightly.

"It is more that now I feel I have nothing to offer." She commented.

"I was one that was for crowd control, but alas, I cannot do that any longer." She continued after a second or two.

"Which is rather unfortunate, I did enjoy my work."

"Hm." Hal mumbled.

"I see." he said.

"Yes... yes, it is true that you were very good at crowd control while you were a banshee, and that as you are currently, you cannot carry out those duties." he admitted.

"A shame you think I'm the sort of person that would let you go for reasons beyond your control." he went on.

"Especially when this happened while you were on a mission FOR the Unit." he continued.

"I assure you, I'm NOT that callous, though." he then assured her.

Sierra just sighed.

"As it stands, I have nothing to offer." She told him simply.

"I am merely another mage with no skills that would be beneficial to this establishment, no matter how much I would like there to be." She added.

"While I do not believe you would intentionally throw me out merely because I cannot fulfill my previous duties, that does not mean that I would expect you to keep such a dead weight around, either."

"Again, true." Hal agreed.

"A shame we're not the sort of organisation to try and see what your new talents may be, and try to put them to good use." he said.

"Real shame." he went on.

"I mean, it's not as though we did that when you first came here, and would extend the same courtesy to you." he continued.

"...yep, real shame." he mumbled, shaking his head.

"Anyway, sorry you feel this way." he finished.

'I was the one who came to you in the first place, though." Sierra countered.

"You extended an offer for possible emplyment because it would be beneficial to have a banshee as part of your roster, did you not?" She asked after another couple seconds.

"Also, I died far too early to have any skills. After my death I relied on my being a banshee. I have not any abilities that I could have learned over the past generations." She then continued.

"I feel I would be ...." She paused, sighed.

"I will be candid here... I feel useless. I did not ask for this, I did not want this, and I do not want this. I have half a mind to just go jump in traffic to see if that would return me to my previous banshee state - but I realise that there is just as much a risk that I would be gone." She admittedly. There was something to her voice, though, something that made it apparent that the revival was not something that was agreeing with her.

"Sierra." he said.

"I will be candid here as well, let us help you to NOT feel useless." he said further.

"You may be unaware of this, but when you appeared in the security area, your mana was almost overwhelming." he told her. "You're strong. Far stronger than I think you realise." he continued.

"If you feel you must leave us, I have no right to stop you." he went on.

"But I implore you... please let us try and find something you can do. Perhaps you have new skills or abilities that would be helpful to us."

"I don't even know anything about who I was, who I could have been, what I could do... nothing... from before about a century ago, when I regained my humanity." Sierra admitted, frustration in her voice.

"If there is something I can do, I would love to do it, but... I just... I don't know. How can I even be able to do something?" She asked. He could tell that it was b orn from everything, everything that happened, and all that had happened over the course of her life - what little she could remember.

"I just..." She paused lightly before shaking her head.

"I'm so lost..."

Hal took a chance here, and reached across the desk, placing a hand atop one of hers.

"Sierra." he said, his voice soft.

"We're here to help." he told her.

"In any way we can." he said further.

"Let us try and help you get through this." he went on.

"Both personally AND professionally." he continued.

This was most certainly a different side to Sierra than he'd seen in the past few years. He'd never seen her so close to breaking down over anything, before. She'd always kept her emotions far too closely guarded before, considering the fact that if they were to get out of hand before, it could cause her to scream and put those she grew to care about at risk.

To see that she was now properly capable of emotions, it was ... rather startling.

"Thank you..." She said quietly, almost sounding near tears.

"Just... Knowing what is truly me, or what was created because of how I was a banshee... That is something I cannot identify to save my life, right now."

Hal realised something now.

He could be a boss to her... or he could be a friend.

Right now, Sierra needed a friend.

As such, he made his way around the desk, crouched down, and gave Sierra a hug. A hug that showed her she really was not alone. She truly DID have people that were willing to help her. That cared for her.

"Sierra, we'll do all we can." he told her.

"I promise." he said.

"You have plenty of people here, and they'll all do everything in their power to help."

Sierra returned the embrace before sighing, and there was definite weight to it. She was trying not to freak out here, and it wasn't hard for Hal to tell. This was the first time in her recollection (even though she knew that she must have had situations like this in this past) where she was properly aware of her emotions instead of locking them away.

"Thank you... just... just thank you..." She said quietly, not releasing her grasp.

It really wasn't hard to tell that she needed this. Now that she was alive, physical contact, and comfort was a lovely thing.

Plus, she had a feeling that she hadn't truly known it before.

Hal just continued to hold Sierra.

"You're welcome." he said.

"We'll help you get through this. I promise." he told her.

Meanwhile, in another part of the world, Azazel made his way to the front door of a decent-sized townhouse, pausing at the end of the driveway.

"Yeah, this should be the right address." he said to himself.

He then walked up to the front door, stopping when he got close.

"Ohhhhh yeah, I can sense her." he mumbled, approaching the door and pressing the doorbell.
