They're usually heavily sedated for neuters! Its a very quick procedure (like 2 minutes).
The reason you fast him is cause under any kind of sedation he can vomit and if he aspirates(breathe into the airways) this, it can cause aspiration pneumonia and we dont want this!
They're usually not intubated(breathing tube down their trachea which creates a seal and protects the above from happening) so gotta fast em! But fasting goes for any kind of sedation/anesthesia! :)

oh yeah when i had to do my oral surgery i couldn't eat either. I was SOOOOOOOO hangry. xD but i got to eat right after and i was too hungry to wait for the numbness to stop but it didn't stop until the middle of the night because i slept a full night of sleep that night.

oh I have never had that process explained to me.

Haha you can definitely feed him once you bring him home xD
Once they're awake they have the ability to protect their airway so they wont aspirate! Heavy sedation and anesthesia gets rid of the ability of an animal to protect the airways!

Haha its most likely fine...if he was there that late he was probably awake for hours XD
The drugs used are usually reversible so they're up and meowing at you pretty fast haha

I've never used tiktok, but I see videos from time to time on Reddit or something. They remind me of Vine a lot, which I also never used but enjoyed watching when it was a thing.
