Sometime later, Erica shook her head, shaking the cobwebs off.

"Yeah, didn't expect the extraction to cause that." Kiah commented after a moment or two.

"It's all right." Erica answered.

"Anyway, need someone for this small scale test?" She asked.

". . . yeah... I'm not sure who though." Kiah admitted.

There was silence for a moment, before Zeke spoke.

"...what about Hazel?" he suggested.

"Well... if there's anyone that's used to being a test subject, it's her." Ilias sighed. "But where IS she?" he asked.

"She's here in the lab." Zeke replied. "I saw her wandering about aimlessly, but I think she should still be here." he went on.

"Then let's find her and bring her here." Cain replied.

"...if she's here, no need." Zeke said quietly.

"Hazel! Front and centre!" the nephilim then bellowed out in a commanding tone.

Kiah sighed lightly.

". . . it really brought that out in her, huh?" Kiah asked, her tone a bit heavy.

"I... shouldn't be as surprised as I am." She added as they heard footsteps approaching. Sure enough Hazel made her way in, her stormy sea coloured eyes rather flat and devoid of much life. She made her way to where she was called, and just stood there, waiting, not meeting anyones eye as she'd been trained to in the past.

There was a heavy silence in the room, before Zeke broke it.

"Someone tell her what to do." he said.

"Um..." Cain muttered.

"Hazel, would you mind helping us-" he started to say, but Zeke interrupted.

"No. TELL her what to do. Give her an order. A direct order." he told him.

"...." Cain was silent again, and then sighed.

"Hazel, get into the chemical shower station over there." he told her, gesturing to the glass enclosure to the right.

Without hesitation or second thought, Hazel made her way to the enclosure in question. Once there, she quickly slid out of her clothing and into the enclosure, not seeming to even realise that there were others there. Or perhaps she didn't care.

It did allow them all to see the black that was covering half of her body from head to toe.

"Well, that... worked." Aedan commented before sighing. "I thought she'd gotten past that, to be honest." She added.

"..... Normally, yes. I'm actually worried this is going to set her back." Kiah admitted as she handed the test to Cain.

"Here." She said. "Put it into the filtration system for it."

"........" Cain was silent for a moment, almost not acknowledging Kiah, before grabbing the test.

"That did not feel good." he said.

"That felt awful." he said further.

"I know." Zeke commented.

"For now, just... get the test done." he told him.

Ilias, meanwhile, just looked away slightly, a small blush to his face, as Cain poured the solution into the filtration system for the enclosure.

"Good to go." he said.

"Give it a minute." She said.

"Let it work through." She added

"More importantly than that for a moment.... I never knew Hazel had eyes." Aedan admitted.

"I thought she like... was born without or some shit. Why else would she keep herself blinded?"

Those that worked at the Unit were silent for a moment, before Zeke sighed.

"She keeps herself blinded to... well... keep her sane." he said.

"She can see the elements, mana, life essence... everything that is around her." he went on. "EVERYTHING." he stressed.

"...she doesn't have the heart or guts to do it permanently." he then said further.

"If she goes without that blindfold, she'll suffer from constant migraines." he finished.

"...but she's not wearing it NOW..." Cain said.

"Meaning she probably has a migraine, but is too submissive and obedient to mention it." Ilias chimed in quietly.

"Well, that's certainly fun." Aedan commented as Kiah left the room.

She returned about five minutes later and approached the enclosure Hazel was in. As she approached, there was a ring of fire around it, and her, blocking everyone's view.

Sure enough, a couple of minutes later, the fire fizzled out, and they joined the others.

'Done deal." Was all Kiah said after a moment or two.

"Uh... hey." Hazel said as she finished tying a blindfold around her eyes.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Already she seems more like her old self." Ilias commented.

"Indeed." Zeke agreed, looking at Erica.

"How does she look?" he asked her.

"Pained, if I were to hazard a guess." Hazel answered with a sigh.

". . . . . . been a very long time since I felt like that... what happened?" She asked, proving that she still had awareness and recollection of everything tha thappened. Sher ealised something was wrong.

"A... Assuming I'm allowed to know..." She added after a couple of seconds.

"...of course you're allowed to know." Zeke told her.

He then just shrugged off Erica's silence, and made his way towards Hazel.

"The short version? Some of the demonic mana on Erica has apparently gone rogue and is making its way from person to person, bringing out their strongest negative core emotion or feelings." he said.

"I became very scared and fearful." Ilias told her.

"You became quite submissive and obedient." Zeke said to her further.

"...sorry about ordering you around earlier." Cain then apologised.

"If it helps, I felt awful doing it." he admitted, scratching the back of his neck slightly.

Hazel paused a moment.

"Well no shit it brought that out." She commetned simply, proving that she was free and clear for the moment, at least.

"Considering the fact that it's ... still who I fight to hide." She added.

"Anyway. I suppose it's time to do up a lage neough batch to deal with everyone else." Kiah commented before looknig to Erica.

"You up for it, Erica?" She asked. The interrogator just sighed before getting to her feet.

"Honestly, don't want to." She admitted, runing a hand through her auburn hair.

"But I really don't want society to collapse in on itself." She continued as she started to remove her glove and sleeve.

"So drain every drop to fix this. If my mana is needed, take it. Betcha anything it'll refill anyway." As she removed what she did - as before it had just been uncovering a small portion of her hand, nothing more had been needed at the time - they saw the markings moving, twisting upon themsevles.

Seeming to be sitting atop her skin, alive.

"....that is concerning." Uriel commented.

"You will need a strong will to keep that in check." he told Erica.

"How much can we take?" Cain then asked.

Uriel stepped forward, and his eyes glowed pure white for about 10 seconds, before returning to normal.

"You'll be able to take 80% of it." he told them.

"It'll be like a blood donation. If you take 80%, the young lady will pass out and fall asleep for a couple of days, but the mana will replenish itself, and she will recover during that time." he explained.

"Any more and you risk her life."

"This happened because somehow, in some way, my mana was duplicated." She said.

"Kill me for all I care." She added.

"If you need it, then take it."

"Hey, Erica, you know we won't do that." Kiah countered.

"I know you don't want to. But if it's necessary, then do it."

Uriel just shook his head.

"Right." he said.

"Let's get to work." Cain told them.

"We need to make as much of this as possible and... find a way to... distribute it... worldwide." he said further, trailing off near the end of it.

"That sounds... preposterous, now that I say it out loud..." he mumbled.

"I might be able to help." Uriel said.

"I think I know of a way to distribute it all over the globe, at the same time." he continued.

"Problem is... it'll seem like a biblical omen..." he then mumbled further.

". . . biblical omen?" Kiah asked.

"what are you thinking, Uriel?" She asked after a moment or two, her voice curious.

"..... Massive storms, if I were to guess." Hazel commented.

"Biblical things are usually envirmental, and I doubt it's going to be something akin to volancoes or the like." She added.

"So storms. That's my guess, at least."

Uriel nodded.

"My brothers and I can seed the clouds with the mixture, and I'm sure the one in charge will make it rain worldwide." he said.

"But people might think it's an omen." Cain muttered.

"Perhaps." Zeke replied.

"However, without any damage done to the environment, it COULD also be misconstrued as a weather anomaly." he commented.

"After all, strange things HAVE happened in the past." he reasoned.

Kiah just paused before laughing lightly.

"That would work perfectly." She admitted.

"So it's a matter of doing what we need to, I suppose.' She added with a sigh.

"At least it can be fixed."

"Indeed." Cain responded.

"Anyway, let's get to work." he told them.

And sure enough, they did. Erica's mana was drained to the point where she was lightheaded and passed out, but she was taken to where she could rest. Uriel's mana was taken as well, but he was able to take it without even flinching.

After some time and work, they made quite a bit of it, and it was ready to go.

".....all right." Uriel said.

"I'm going to enlist some help." he told them.

"We need to get this spread out around the world."
