"Heh." he chuckled.

"That's fair enough." he said.

"Under the stars works just fine." he told him.

"I'll get the sleeping bags out."

Being out in nature, on the road, he felt better.

He even looked a little healthier.

He closed his eyes yawning and putting his hands behind his head

Ryker cleaned up the remnants of dinner and gathered sleeping bags for them. Once they were laid out, he made sure there was enough firewood for the night.

"All right." he said.

"Guess we're good." he commented.

"All we need is to wait for the sky to start to darken."

He was already snoring.

He had had a large meal, which always made him sleepy.

He turned over nearly falling off the chair

".....or not." Ryker replied with a small laugh.

He then managed to carry Eke to one of the sleeping bags and tuck him in, before throwing wood into the metal barrel and lighting it to the fire would keep him warm.

He was then silent, and sighed, before he felt a twinge in his head.

"Ngh." he grunted, before walking over a very large rock by the river, climbing atop it, and staring at the sky.

Why can't I just be

He turned over still very asleep.

He grumbled in his sleep.

After a bit he woke up as Ryker wasnt there.

He looked around. "Ryker...?" he said aloud as he got up.

He wandered around before finding his brother.

"Hey...you okay?" he asked softly

"He's fine." was the response Eke got, though it wasn't Ryker's voice.

It was the other one.

"He's sleeping. Well, mentally." he went on.

"What do you want, kid?" he then asked.

"What's got you awake?"

"Ryker wasnt there when i turned over." he said before leaning on a tree.

"I...think we should talk about that day" he said crossing his arms but not in a threatening or aggressive way.

"You've been way too quiet" he finished looking down.

"I shouldnt have yelled at you like that." he continued.

"I was just...upset...i had just fought my dad...and i never got to talk to the real him and it was all just so...stressful..." he said rubbing the back of his head.

"But i never wanted you to go away..."

The demon just rolled his eyes.

"Sure, kid." he said.

"Anyway, go back to sleep." he told him.

"I'll bring this body to the sleeping back next to you in a few minutes." he went on.

"Just wanted to be in control for a few hours. Drives me mad to just stay in the background." he muttered further.

"Yes." he said.

"Briefly." he told him.

"Demons and dragons generally don't associate with each other." he reasoned.

"However, in the brief time I met him... he treated me with dignity... respect... and it was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before." he told him further.

"That was before I was overtaken, dethroned, and an allegiance was made to seal me away."
