Me and my parents are celebrating this Sunday in a mix-up of Juneteenth and Father's day
my dad is cooking most-likely Gumbo and busting out his Djembe drum for musical accompaniment in the backyard <3

@lilmisskushy: thanks! it's getting more traction this year with all the upsets around police brutality and such
I've been wanting to celebrate it with my family for a few years now, so we're finally taking initiative!

@kitalpha hart: It was celebrated more sporadically depending on if families knew about it, if you wanted to start it up, etc.
i learned about it in my African American Studies classes in university, but haven't done a real real celebration for it until this year!
