Hmmm.
I've been in your shoes, but not during a pandemic. I had to stay home with 2 toddlers though. I'm trying to remember what I did.
I know I had bubbles and water balloons. I let them throw water balloons on the grass. Which was amusing enough for my two two-year-olds.
Happy Birthday! <3 I hope today turns out to be fun.

Do some fun crafts!!

They're two, so they're not going to remember anyway and they're also very easily entertained!

If you do crafts, then you'll have a memento forever and you can even sign it "covid bday 2020" or something so you'll always remember!

Seconding crafts! My mom always had craft at my birthday parties as an activity/"take home" goody. We made bracelets, painted ceramics, melted our own crayons... if you have the ingredients on hand homemade play dough is a great 2yr old activity! Kids love to pick out their own colors and then squish the dough together in the bag (just don't let them eat it lol)

@wrik: such a good idea thank you.. if its a good day today we might do some arty stuff with gluing involved .. they love making a mess XD

@koneko: you just reminded me that i have empty egg shaped cases left over from easter that i can put some stuff in and hide them round the garden.. thank u.. i totally forgot.. yes bubbles are great my nanny taught me when i was wee how to put washing up liquid and water on ur hands and rub it all round ur hands and then use ur thumb and fore finger and do an ok sign and when u blow through it u can make huge bubbles then u give ur wrist a flick and the bubble floats away XD its so satisfying every time it turns me into a big kid XD

@xvz:aww thank you so much <3 we had an amazing day yesterday... they just enjoy making a mess XD

@nephila: aww thanks so much hun <3 wow i didnt know u had a 19 year old daughter.. i bet u guys are the bestest of friends ^.^

@lilykin: aww that brings back so many memories i used to love making jewellery with all different kinds of beads and materials.. my childhood was full of art and creative stuff.. and thats how i will bring my little one up.. because it was always so fun .. and thank you so much for the link i think the girls would really enjoy that... i made flour babies for them with balloons but they bit into them and POOF the flour was everywhere lmao

@koneko: i have to agree its even fun for adults xD i remember my dad at christmas when i was wee he hid our special presents on the Christmas tree he had took the gift like bobbles off the tree opened them up and used the foil to wrap our gifts up with and put them back on the tree so it took us hours finding them becuse we didnt think that they'd be there they just looked like tree bobbles he had to give us loads of clues XD and me and my 3 sister's opened them up to find our gold rings.. it was our first ever real jewellery piece so it was so exciting .. yeah my nanny was full of surprises me and my sister can never wash our hands without atleast blowing atleast one big bubble its just a habit now XD

@LilMissKushy: Well, Happy Birthday to you!

Concerning games with the little ones - it has been forever since my kids were that age, but things like hide-and-seek, counting or alphabet games if the kids are at that level, but probably more along the lines of sand castles (if you have a sandbox) or that shaving cream coloring/finger painting activity (look online), play-doh, coloring pages, etc. You could bake something if you have the ingredients - cupcakes?! You said it was cold outside, but could you go for a walk? You could make it fun by making it in to a scavenger hunt or "I spy with my little eye...". You can also look online for activities for that age group, of course - there are tons of things posted. Good luck. :)

@LilMissKushy: Aw! I'm glad you guys had fun! :D Birthdays can be hard to celebrate with littles running around. I used to just strip my kids down to their diapers and let them paint. Then carry them off with extended arms to the bath.
My two aren't twins, but they are really close in age. The husband and I adopted a family member from his side of the family. She was a little older than two when she moved in. Kids are about 9 months apart. Now, they are 6 & 7. c:

@wildfire: thank you so much wildfire ^.^ i will look into that shaving cream finger painting book and see what its like.. they love anything that makes a mess lol.. havent got a wee sand pit yet because i think they would eat it to be honest.. well my niece would anyway she eats everything XD and also that play doh i might try and just make sure she doesnt eat it lol.. baking i can do with them not being 2 yet they probably would only enjoy the eating part XD

@koneko: yes dad was very sneaky at games like that XD

@koah: it is hard i usually go out with my friends and sisters but i didnt wanna go out with the pandemic still going on.. so just stayed at home with the kids.. my 2 are usually in their nappies and vests when inside because its so hot in my apartments i hate it lol aww that was so lovely of u guys to take another little one on and adopt her.. i havent adopted my niece or nephew they're going back home when this is all over XD

@totalanimefan: aww thank you hun.. and its no problem.. i know you've alot going on <3

@LilMissKushy: sorry for this ridiculously late reply. Been busy packing and getting ready to move. My kids just interrogated me about all the toys I've packed. e.e'
I am curious, do you have your niece and nephew until the quarantine is over?

@koah: no worries hun .. moving is such an effort all the packing :/ good luck with your move <3
They're worried incase ur getting rid of their toys XD yes i have them until the quarantine is over (hopefully) as much as i love them but I've had my nephew for nearly 2 years and my niece for a year and a half and im just so burnt out lol the 10 year old has levels of autism.. hes functioning but when he gets mad he really gets mad and my niece likes to stay awake until she burns herself out... @LilMissKushy: oh my gosh! Wow! You really stepped in! <3
My adopted daughter is hyper until I get her to lay down at night for about 10 minutes. Then she sleeps hard. She has a bedwetting issue because of her high-energy / hard-sleeper . She has childhood trauma as well. She has these massive tantrums, she moved on from self-harming to throwing things at me. However, we haven't had an episode in a few months now. She's 7 and we talk about everything. All her feelings- constantly and consistently.
My son has autistic-like behaviors. I haven't checked to see if he's on the spectrum. He just struggles with being shy and he's particular about some stuff.
anyway, I think it's amazing your helping raise your nephew and niece.

@koah: awk im just doing what any sister would do.. you seem to be doing an amazing job with ur adopted daughter <3 she seems like shes came a long way..and its good that she talks to u about her feelings.. she will always be open with you...
Yeah kids with autistic trates are very particular about their stuff.. they dont like people touching it unless they say u can.. sometimes it can be the same with effection.. they like to give hugs when it suits them lol my nephew likes fluffy blankets and anything thats fluffy and he doesnt want anyone touching them or washing them unless he says so XD hes very smart as well hes 10 going on 20 the attitude on him is ridiculous sometimes XD

@LilMissKushy: Oh my gosh! YEAH! Fluffy blankets! Soft things! My son is obsessed. He's such a snuggler but hates being unexpectantly touched. He has stuffed bunny/blankies that he's carried around since he was a year old. He's 6.
