god we had so many watermelon seed spitting fights when I was a kid
I think they sound hollow when you thump them... that's a general melon thing. idk if they're like cantelope but smell may also be a clue

tbh w melon i usually get precut/sliced cuz they're heavy!!!
i live in a major city where most ppl either walk or take transit so i cannot carry them home lol

Man they overcharge so much for the precut though...
Also there are smaller melons... especially if you're getting seedless. They don't all have to be gigantic.

precut is def more expensive but i don't mind if it means the difference bn not having it at all!
or like saving effort is worth it lol
i still have to get all my other groceries in the same trip too lol i can't chase down rolling melons hahaha
