I never run out of space because my internal drive is freakishly huge - I think it's a 1tb??

It'd be good to have some extra space, even if it's an external drive :3
You can also use the external drive to back up important docs and stuff, so if the hard drive in your netbook quits you'll still have important files!!!
In my opinion it's better to back things up yourself than rely on a cloud service >w>
