@xyz: I wish I was but unfortunateyl I live in an apartment wher eI am not allowed to have any pets T_T and no garden but if I had a garde Iwould at least have carrots, leeks ( lots and lots of leeks ) and potatoes, and a area for fresh herbs

have you tried like windowsill garden herbs ??
i had some extra mint and stuck it in a glass and put it by the window ~
i had a few growing last year too (they died when i left for a month in the winter lol)

I think an easy herb to grow is green onions! I stuck the roots of my store-bought ones in water after chopping the green + a couple slices of white, and they grew back Really fast

I woudl try windowsill herbs if the sun didnt run straight ito my apartment from the only window ( that can only be opened half )becaus eof its design ) the herbs and any plants ive had have died within 3 weeks

@0v7: you can do the same with leeks... potatoes you can just pop a couple potatoes in a bucket of earth

@TeaTales: I did the potatoes on accident - I stuck a bunch of old potatoes in the compost pile in our yard... and later these weird plants started growing in there, so I took out my plant identification app.. and they sure are potato plants!!

but west n southwest facing light can be p harsh i guess, esp if you're farther north ... ?

Maybe you could set up some shade in that window so it gets sunlight from one point in time to another ??? like, we get 6am sunlight to 2pm sunlight in the garden!! I... think, anyways, I forgot the specific times..

Denmark north.. and the window is north-east facing, but the sun is on my windows from sunrise till around 3 pm during summertime
