haha surgery is such a big deal for any one person but for a surgeon it really is just like... another day at work
i mean i'm sure they have to be careful during their job (i mean i sure hope so) but i guess you do just get used to it after so many years of doing it :0

woah i've never had blended beef soup lol
i figured i would pick up some blended soups though! like pumpkin or squash soup , and maybe like a box of instant mashed potatoes?
i might make some egg drop soup too (essentially just chicken broth and egg lol, and creamed corn but i'll probably leave that out)

Yeah I'm sure things just come easier the more experience one has in that area.

Those options sound good. It's funny you say egg drop soup with corn in it because I've only had that at one place. Most everyone else I've had it from didn't have corn in it. Not that I mind, but it was different.

oohh i think it's the difference bn like, home cooking style and restaurant style ?

i think restaurant style egg drop soup is like ...oilier? lol and more yellow
i think the home cooked version is like, v light :3
the corn adds a nice like cronch texture to it! it's super easy to make tbh ^^ i make it sometimes when i'm sick cuz of how low effort it can be

Now that you mention it, I think you're right. Once I had a version with a hint of white pepper in there and it was delicious. Normally I don't care for spicy things, but that was just the right amount.

ooh white pepper is a great addition ^^

it's kind of interesting to me to think about food from the perspective of home cooking vs. like... restaurant/industry :0

i wasn't big on spicy growing up but for some reason a few years ago i started to enjoy it lol
like now i eat wasabi w my sushi :0 whereas before i wouldn't touch it

I can’t eat spicy food.
“Mild” is the hottest I can manage, and only a little bit. >.<

I don't normally care for spicy food, but if I have the occasional spicy food that isn't too strong, I'm usually okay with it.
I get annoyed when I can't taste my food though.

I don’t like when food burns my mouth, or when I can’t taste anything. I like food for flavor.

Same. Idk how people can handle losing their sense of taste like that.

It’s unpleasant.
I wonder if they like the pain and heat?

Sorry to 'butt in' here, (and while I cannot speak for anyone other than myself) but speaking as someone that absolutely loves spicy food (and at one point would pop habanero peppers... not like candy, but on a semi-regular basis), it can really make one feel alive, and to have that sensation in your mouth. That tingling, that HEAT! But yes, the hotter one goes beyond one's tolerance, the less one actually TASTES the peppers.

From a biological/chemical standpoint, the spice in hotter foods is, essentially, a pain reflex. Capsaicin makes your brain to release chemicals that make some people feel... well... buzzed, or high. And as a response, the brain releases endorphins and dopamine, making one feel... well... good.

It's why that 7th spicy chicken wing goes down a lot easier than the first one.

That's a very good way of putting it.

It's just that long-term over-consumption of spicier peppers can actually break down the special mucous membrane in one's stomach, and cause bad heartburn, ulcers, and acid reflux.

But that's for those people that chase those 'feel-good' highs with spice. Habaneros are my limit, and the ones that I can still eat and enjoy the taste of... but even then, sometimes I remove the seeds.

My 'eating purely to experience the thrill of spice' days are long behind me, and it is merely culinary curiosity that will cause me to try a new spicy pepper or dish if I can get ahold of it.

It’s weird because although I can’t handle spicy at all, I really love sour! Like sour candy is never sour enough for me. XD

My fiance is a spice fiend. Nothing is ever spicy enough for him lol.

I used to have a higher tolerance for sour candy, but I guess since I don't eat it often my tolerance has lowered. xD I'm more of a fan of chocolate when it comes to candy.

I didn’t eat sour candy for like 15 years and then tried it again and remembered I like it. But I still had a tolerance.

Chocolate is always best
