Azazel just sighed.

"Give him a moment." he told her.

"Mmmmmm..." Nate mumbled dreamily, causing Azazel to be sighed for a moment.

"Geez, she was REALLY laying it on thick..." he muttered, before taking a small part of his mana, focusing it in the tips of his fingers, and then snapping them right in front of Nate's face.

"Ah! Huh!? Wha!?" Nate stammered, as his eyes flicked to clarity.

"Let's jumpstart that a bit." Azazel mumbled.

"What happened?" Nate asked, looking around, clearly confused.

Azazel poked his head around in the elevator, before sighing.

"Great." he said.

"Wonder if it mechanical or mana..." he mumbled.

He then looked at the buttons, and shook his head.

"I'll get one of the nightstaff maintenance people to look at this." he told her. "In the meantime, either use the stairs, or go for the elevator that's on the other end of the hall." he suggested.

"Also, hi. I'm Az." he introduced himself to Nate.

"...." Nate was silent as he looked at Azazel.

"...oh! You're Cain's father!" he realised. "Hello, I'm Nathan." he responded.

"Ah, good to meet you." Azazel replied.

"Take care of yourself." Azazel replied.

"Both a'ya!" he added, before he walked off, waving as he did so.

"Bye, then!" Nate called back.

"And.. right, yeah..."' he then mumbled, as the two of them started walking.

"What... what DID happen back there?" he asked her.

"It's... kinda fuzzy and blurry..."

"....I see." Nate replied.

"It's scary that you're saying that's 'all' it is." he commented.

"...wait..." he then mumbled.

"Okay, so, succubi are real." he then said.

"...but I'm not married. Or even in a relationship." he went on.

"Don't they only go for married men?" he asked.

"...huh." Nate muttered.

"Well... I suppose I should be flattered." he said.

"I think?" he then mumbled.

"I mean... well... I dunno, depends on how picky she is, and what constitutes 'eye-catching' for her." he reasoned, before just sighing and shaking his head slightly, looking around.

"You weren't kidding when you said I was going into the deep end." he commented.

"I'm not even here for 5 minutes and already a succubus tries to... erm... abscond with me? I guess?"

"Wow..." Nate replied.

"That's kinda scary." he told her. "Too weak the breathe, almost, for weeks? That would have... well... ruined my schoolwork and such." he reasoned, before pausing suddenly.

"...and that's the first thing I thought of." he mumbled.

"Wow." he said further.

"I have MY priorities!" he declared with a light laugh.

"But then again, my past clearly shows I value getting my academics over maintaining my health." he sighed.

"Thankfully, you came into my life and put a stop to that on the quick-fast."

"....right." Nate mumbled, as they approached the medical wing.

"Guess this is it." he said.

"You said you had some business here, so... guess you're off to do so." he told her.

"And I'm... hopefully not going to blow this amazing opportunity." he went on.

"I mean... the worst that can happen is that they reject me... and I have THAT on my mind... which distracts me from my studies... which causes me to flunk... and then I end up working in fast food for the rest of my life until I die old and alone smelling of fryer oil-" he babbled, before slapping himself across the cheek. Not hard enough to leave a mark, but enough to snap himself out of it.

"...............I'm not nervous, no!" he exclaimed with a nervous laugh, before sighing and taking a huge breath, holding it in, and then exhaling.

"Just... go in... and do your best, Nathan." he told himself quietly.

Nate returned the hug, and they parted ways. He watched her go, until she was out of sight, before looking back at the medical wing, steeling himself, taking a few quick breaths, and walking in.

When he did, he looked around, seeing nobody there.

And then it occurred to him; he had NO idea where he was going IN the medical wing.

"....ah..." he stammered.

"H-hello?" he said, looking around, too scared to actually call out.

For all he knew, there were patients here, trying to rest.

Nate looked over towards her, and resisted the urge to recoil.

Surrounding her was an aura that looked like it was full of the vitality of nature... but he could see... so much more in it. So many... different pieces of aura speckled within her own.

In confused him greatly, but he cleared his throat a little.

"Ah, hello." he greeted her back.

"My name's Nathan." he said.

"I'm... I'm here for a 9pm interview with... Dr. Edwards." he told her, almost forgetting to refer to Angela more respectfully at this point.

Nate was still stunned for a moment, before shaking his head and quickly following her. They made their way to the break room, and he sat down in one of the chairs, scanning the place.

"...this is really nice." he commented.

"This is a break room that... well, it's pretty relaxing and homey." he said further.

He then looked at Alicja, and nodded slightly.

"Also, hello Alicja." he greeted her.

"...so how do you like working here?" he asked, making polite conversation, but also doing a little bit of lowkey scouting as to the general attitude and 'feel' of the place he was interviewing to work in.
