Racquel wasn't the quickest with it. He could feel when it reached her, and how it HAD started to affect her before it flickered suddenly, and he felt like the mana used for that was just severed. He could still feel the ability within, but he couldn't feel the mana that was currently used.

Moments later, he heard Racquel sink to her knees.

She was silent, just trying to recover from this little event. It really hadn't taken long at all.

He forced the mana back down, before racing towards where he'd heard Racquel drop.

"Miss Racquel!" he exclaimed.

"Are you all right!?" he asked.

'Damn it, damn it, damn it!' he cursed mentally.

"I'm so sorry!" he then apologised.

"How badly did it hurt you?" he asked her.

"Do you need medical attention?"

"Just... a bit drained, obviously." She added.

"But I really will be all right. Please, don't worry about that."

"Oh, thank heavens." he said, falling onto his ass.

"I tried to hold it back once it got out, but... didn't work." he went on.

"I hate it." he then growled.

"That's exactly why you need to learn how to use it." Racquel told him honestly.

I didn't want to learn how to use my rune due to the reputation Fyrane's have, but... I was able to keep it under wraps far better once I did learn how to handle it." She continued.

"It's something that you can't suppress, it will burst out unexpectedly if you do."

"I can do small bursts, but defintiely can't truly affect a soul." She added.

"Regardless, yes. We do know that I can cancel your netting." She agreed with a nod, some relief to her voice.

"Regardless. After that, you could probably use a drink more than ever."

"Of course." Julien responded.

He then helped Racquel get into one of the comfier chairs where she could relax, before disappearing into the house. About a minute later, he came back with a bottle of mead, and a glass for her to drink it out of.

He handed her the glass and poured some gorgeous amber-coloured liquid into it, that smelled faintly of the berries that grew around their home.

"My first time making it with what grows around here." he told her.

"I think I managed to make it decent, but... well, an outsider's perspective is often more truthful." he reasoned.

"The one that made it is generally biased in one way or the other."

"That is very true." She agreed before trying some of it. She toko a little bit before saying anything about it, or seeming to react at all.

"Not too bad at all." She told him. "However, I do think it needs to sit for a bit longer."

Julien was silent, but nodded.

"All right, that's fair enough." he said.

"I'll let it rest for... another week or so, before trying it again." he told her.

"But the fact that you were so positive is already encouraging." he said further.

"Thank you." he then told her.

"It's been hard to get opinions for other people in the past." he said with a light laugh, though there was a hint of sadness under it.

"Just leave it for a few more months and I'm sure you could sell it for quite a nice price if you so desired." She added with a light smile.

"....months, right." he said.

"What would you like to drink for right now?" he asked.

"I'll get it for you." he offered.

"Yeah, you've got a bit." She commented.

"As for right now, I'm not sure." She admitted.

It took a few months before Julien manned up and spoke to Demitra about his feelings for her, and she took it well, even admitted she reciprocated it. That wasn't something too surprising, after all. Anyone could see it.

That night, they had gotten even closer.

Sometime later, Demitra has gone to speak with Emma, before being told what was going on. Once finding out, she jmade her way to where her cousin was, knocking on the door of his mini office. She didn't know if he was in there, though.

"....door's open." her cousin responded, his voice a bit... ominous, and on the warning side.

When she opened the door and peered in, she saw her cousin glaring at her... before it suddenly softened.

"Oh, it's you." he said.

"Good." he said further, heaving a heavy sigh of relief.

"I have had it up to HERE with Torch and Nighthawk squabbling with each other, and always coming to ME to break it up or take sides." he told her.

"FOUR times so far today!"

"Next time they come, take a side that is neither of theirs." She commented.

"It's an idea, at least."
