Forums Literature Authors to recommend?

Voltie — Burnt Posted 7 years ago ( 2017/10/29 16:07:54 )
I'm trying to get into reading, but i get overwhelmed with huge variety of selections.
So of anyone has authors they recommend, that would help me a lot.
If it helps, i like mysteries and the love story/ happy books. Heartfelt stories basically.
I personally don't like books that go into detail regarding sexual things.

Thanks!

Upon reading the word mysteries, The Complete Four Just Men by Edgar Wallace popped into my head, so there's that. There are also the adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle (which go by The Complete Sherlock Holmes or The Sherlock Holmes Collection, among other things, depending on where you buy it). I wish I could recommend more, but I'm not the most avid reader.

I'm morally obligated to recommend the goddess that is Tamora Pierce.
She writes really good ya-esque fantasy.
I'd recommend picking up the Circle of Magic quartlet.

I was about to recommend a horror author but if you're looking for romance there's a book called The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It has some of the prettiest wording I've ever read and it's very heavy on nice imagery.

Know of 3 of them, maybe 4. Probably means I'll enjoy the others!

second third and whatever number i can press this one. Tamora Pierce is love. Even in person she's a bundle of joy and awesomeness.

M.C.Hale and the Pendragon Series
The Warriors series by Erin Hunter.
I could suggest lots of authors. :D Mercy Thompson series.
