Zootopia was one of the movies that surprised me a little. Concerning the Howlers, not the fact that the Sheep Assistant was the bad guy. I'm trying to think of a movie I've seen that actually surprised me at the end. Oh I did know (
I knew that Te Kah (sp?) Was actually Tefitti before my friend realized. Like Moana saw that the island was completely gone and I"m like "Duh, Te Kah is Tefitti"

@Crystalkitsune85: i honestly forget.
There is some culture and i think it IS Chinese or Japanese? Maybe even both??? That bake things like coins into cakes and if you get the slice with the item in it it tells your fortune for the next year. So It's not really a surprise to the people eating it because they know they might have that object in their cake and it also may not be there cause maybe someone else got that slice. But I think in the movie specifically the new mom purposefully put it in Fei Fei's cake as a bonding attempt.

Now it being JADE i feel like that may have been dangerous. cause isn't it poisonous at certain temperatures or something? Or am i making that one up/?

Also, I loved the foreshadowing on Steven Universe.
How the statue that made up the beach house was actually Obsidian, the ultra fusion between them all. That was really neat.

@Starlight: Good foreshadowing is beautiful . Following a trope to an absolute tee and laying out an entire hour and a half of what you're about to experience in 5 minutes... really irritates me :/ So i can't watch to many modern movies because people are sticking to tropes to closely.

Shutter Island is the movie that made me so frustrated because it twisted so much I didn't know anything by the end of it xD

@ghost: I agree with you about how dumbed down movies (and some games) have gotten for this generation. I absolutely dislike how dumbed down they made the newer Pokemon games. I can really go on a big tangent about THAT I can tell you. And I'm from the Red/Blue generation, so I know how the games were from the beginning.

Mm I get that. There's a difference between foreshadowing and following a common pattern to the extent that it's just painfully obvious what will happen

I don't really watch enough movies to suggest any. I like Ghibli movies though. I just nod along when people talk about popular movies I haven't watched

no worries ghost. you go on loving movies :D I personally have a hard time watching them because it feels like a waste of my time when i can watch 5 minutes. pause it. give a little summary of what is about to happen in the rest of the movie, unpause it. and be exactly right with no surprises. :/ I could have been doing something else more productive like art, or unpacking my house, or baking. xD

hubby and i didn't even bother buying sword and shield :/

and i didn't finish sun and moon but i didn't hate it. I did hate that i had to pay for a pokemon bank on the app store and it was a sub.

@ghost: Oh yes. I had Moon and I was like..LET GO OF MY HAND AND LET ME PLAY DARN YOU! It was too hand-holdy. I basically went in Sword not expecting anything great. ONLY thing I actually really like is the customization and the open 'wild' area. I really wish they'd make an open world Pokemon game, since they have the technology because they made Breath of the Wild....

@ghost: If you have Steam you should look into TemTem. It's a lot like Pokemon. I played it for a while but haven't gotten back to it because of Genshin Impact, but I enjoyed it when I played it.

Also Pokemon Go Eevee/Pikachu was SUCH A RIP OFF!!! I got it, thinking it would be an interesting experience. Heck no. ITS HOT TRASH. IT's paying $60 for playing Pokemon Go, and going through the old Kanto Region.

-looks at David Lynch's Wikipedia page-
I've heard of some of these movies, but I haven't watched any of them. I don't watch many movies though, so that's not a surprise. I clicked on the Dune link to see if it was based on the book Dune, and it is. I've seen that book before, and I've thought about reading it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet

Something else i've noticed is that 4th editions for games generally are super tutorial and cringe. and just dumbed down versions with a shiny gloss to appeal to wider audiences (unless 4th edition came before 2000 i believe) . It felt that way for dnd. it felt that way for Wow. Sims 4 is taking a lot of heat for the same thing.

maybe with longer series it's the 8th. Cause FF8 got a a bit of heat if i remember right because 7 was so good. and then Pokemon 8 i believe was sun and moon?

FF8 was fine (and still a lot of people's favorites) but it was different from FF7 which was a lot of people's first Final Fantasy and I think that confused a lot of people that weren't used to the way Square mixed it up every game.
