i'm trying to be more composition-minded but i feel like it's a slightly different approach maybe??
Ernya was my favorite avatar site for a good while. I think it was the third one I found after Gaia and Solia, and I left both of those for the most part to focus on Ernya

I think my uni probably had professional art clubs too, but ofc why would I join that when I can join... the anime art club?? hello??????
I love the chill/supportive fun art environment. it's so important to have people that are just genuinely interested in your art and want to see you make cool things.

An artist i watch was showing us some plants she has in these little glass looking bottles on her stream
and i thought it was a good idea to have a person in it with some plants/blossoms.
I'm not very well known plant person so i have no idea what it's called. :vanora_sweat:
but also saw some ideas on pinterest as well.

Ernya just shut down one day. KAPUT. :( it was a big shock to everyone and tbh I'm still sad about it.
I wasn't active when it closed, so I'm not sure entirely. I just know bits and pieces that I've heard

ah ernya. admin separated, low userbase, it just wasn't making enough money to even sustain itself in the end.
I am not an actual NPC.
Long story short, the owners were losing money and finally decided to call it quits, but the way they handled it was very poor, imo.

it was like every club ... i wanted to join a dance club but every single one u had to audition for and half of the ppl had been dancing their whole lives / went to competitions ... felt like nothing was beginner friendly there

I joined a lot of avatar sites, but the ones I was active on for any amount of time were Gaia(found from a friend on RuneScape), Solia(for a bit before I found Ernya), Ernya, Roliana(for a bit), Trisphee, MyRufflesRPGWorld(it was a less active site with monkey avatars), Terrasus(didn't end well from what I remember), KofK, Syndrone, Crysandrea, and Sapherna

I thought there was something else going on with ernya just before it closed too, but I can't remember what it was. The way its closing was handled was quite poor though, imo.

i normally keep the same avatar for 2-5 months as i am not particularly active.
yeah i thought it would be a neat idea.
as i never had drawn plants and i usually look at my feed to see the least used theme/color.

i think hearing about that is a good reminder for me to donate to voltra when i can ... !
when i was younger on avi sites i didn't really have income i could spend but now that i do i'd want to do what i can for spaces i care about!
