Velvet will be fashionable as always. Though I can't say about others except Vivienne, she looks adorable.
apparently this isn't the first time the npc art changed.
is this something they do every event? every year? random times?

We've update npc avatars with unique costumes for events before, but that's usually temporary.
This time is a bit more extravagant of an update as we released a new shop (with two new NPCs) and updated npc avatar designs along with shop keeper art to match. Its the first time we've updated npc art since our launch in 2017. The characters have grown and developed so much since then and their portraits should accurately display that.

Its really nice to see them in new outfits and hairstyles. I would love for their outfits to change to suit the season or the occasion. X3
I’d really love an npc avatar showcase thread too. Would be cool to compare them all. A lot of event items are based off npcs outfits during those events too.

In my opinion, they should have went with the art from the Blooming Love stuff.

Those are gorgeous, what we got instead doesn't look right in my opinion.
Vanora looks like a fourteen year old baby face, which doesn't match anything I remember about her.
Same with Vivenne really. I remember these NPC's all being adults and now these two particularly look like they've been aged down and baby-fied.
Where did Vontell's afro go?
Why does Vyc now look like he wants you to think he'll rob you in an alley?

blooming love art was stylised to event and using old npc designs so they obviously couldnt use it since theyve been planning redesigns for a while, nobody releases things like these on a whim without thinking things through

they clearly stated theyve revamped their designs to fit their personalities better, so maybe you havent been reading events lately?
