What exactly happened? Why did it have to be removed?

I'm sorry you had to go through that.
I would have also had my eyes closed the majority of the time.

@Fielkun: my toenail literally was dead. There is a new one growing, no worries. It happens to people like me who like to run a lot.

@Lithium: yeah the time the doctor was lime you okay, feel any pain? And I was like I feel something, not pain, but it isn't natural Dx

@Burntcicle: Ah alright. I understand. I also experienced it before. There's a small blister/boil of sort that suddenly appeared in my left toenail. It was swollen and painful. But it just falls off naturally after a week lol

There is something haunting in the light of the moon;
It has all the dispassionateness of a disembodied soul, and something of its inconceivable mystery.

@Fielkun: mines been swollen for like a month and a half now. Dx
I just thought it was a bruise and would take longer to go away being in an area not really circulated already. But then as i did physical activity on it more, it kept getting worse so i finally went to the doctor.

@Burntcicle: never thought one could end up with a dead toenail from
running everyday, sounds more like you need the next shoe size up. I have
never heard of this happening to anybody else that I know who run a lot.

@Q t e a p o n: ibuprofen works :)

@Unicorn: It is the repetitive motion of the nail striking the shoe. My shoe is prefectly fine. Just when the foot goes forward, it strikes the shoe. And it probably didn't help i tripped over whatever towards the end of the race

My toe hurts reading this. :c I lost a toe nail once when I dropped a bowling ball on my toe and broke it. Awful experience, especially since I get in-grown toenails so it hurt a lot growing back. I hope yours comes back with no problems.

@Burntcicle: If you don't usually have toenail issues you should be fine!
