@Purpsy: D&D... or DnD... is shorthand for a game called Dungeons and Dragons. Have you heard of it?

@Purpsy: Over the years they've added board game elements to it, but it's primarily an imaginative role-play game, yes

@Purpsy: It can be. It really depends on the group dynamics and the DM (dungeon master - the "storyteller" who guides/runs the game)

@Koah: Yes, we were talking D&D. My kids wanted to play when they were younger, but I would have had to have been the DM and asking that of me at the time was just too much. Plus, I don't tend to remember the nitty gritty details of things like monster stats - I would have always been looking things up in the Monster Manual or something. It's an awesome game though and I miss playing :3


@Kory: It's easy to rack up pings in an event like this... and to miss them once in a while.

@Wildfire: My husband took up the DM role and started a pokemon campaign with the kiddos. Otherwise, weekly, the adults of our house get together plus some friends come over for a campaign that's been going for about 3 months now. My husband co-dms with our roommate, so they pile ideas and if one doesn't want to do it, they trade for the night and have characters to use.
