Finally brought myself to update my gallery and my latest creations and what I am currently working on.

I love the shading on the faces for Mona and Lemon Lady. They look so realistic.

@Kent: CSP is a life savor. Tho i use krita sometimes because
i like how the brushes work in it to paint as with CSP i haven't really found a brush i enjoy painting with.
mostly struggling to finish them because painting is very new for me
and i do not even know how to tackle hair yet lol.
I mostly just know how to paint faces and skin for the most part.
but i definitely want to paint them.
I have a few other pieces in the works that plan to be painted as well.
Actually they are my mermay pieces from last year but are mostly incomplete.

@MoodyB: Interesting. I'm still getting used to using CSP too. I should watch some tutorials. Painting sounds so time-consuming. I'm pretty amazed how some artists color hair. o: Did you look at tutorials for painting faces? Or did you figure that out on your own? I think I prefer cell-shading but I'm not used to making full-color pieces that often.

painting very much is time consuming, but it's also very rewarding. that feeling i get when i figure something out keeps me wanting to paint more
I did a mix of looking at refs and watching tutorials. but a lot of my knowledge has been in my head since 2018-2019 just never put into practice due to self doubt.
i tend to be constantly analyzing and studying faces like where the highlights go, where shadows are etc. makeup tutorials helped a lot.
i might only do the two and hope i can finish them lolol

That makes sense. I usually look at refs to figure out shading for clothes. My clothes come out so boring without a ref. XD

Oh! That reminds me of a time I painted clouds in an animation program in high school! That was so fun... They were basically like marshmallow clouds though. XD
My imagination barely ever matches what I actually draw. I wonder if I can ever make them both match. ; w;

tho i have so many and i only use maybe 3 or 4 lol.
I would like to do more with textured brushes and make my paintings and drawings more interesting.
honestly same. I have really good ideas but they never end up exibited very well like i had imagined.

I love that you can add PS brushes very easily into CSP.
I hope so. I think i just really need to practice on my anatomy and gesture drawing overall.
that's probably why my stuff is not coming out the best. but also not the worst.
just need to work on the anatomy and general flow of it all.
as I want my work to feel more natural and loose rather than stiff.
