“It’s wrong to throw them away! You should have donated them! … O-Oh! I’m sorry for yelling! But… But I mean it! How would you feel if you spent so long pouring your heart into your art just for it to be carelessly tossed aside like that?”
“Uh… Well, I think I’d know… I painted them.”
“Oh… W-Wait what?!? You painted these? But they don’t look like your normal art at all! These are so beautiful and vibrant and… O-Oh! Not to imply that your normal art isn’t nice of course! Sorry! That sounded so mean I-”
“It’s fine. I know. I don’t try to make my art broadly appealing. I made those years ago when I was still trying to find myself, when I thought making something beautiful was enough. But I wasn’t happy making them. So you know. Garbage.”
“What a shame… B-But I think it’s wrong to think so little of them!!” “...Huh?” “At the time, you put your heart and feelings into these paintings, shouldn’t that be enough? It would be wrong to throw them away. They're a part of you, who you were then and the journey you took to get where you are now. A-And besides, there’s nothing wrong with appreciating art for its beauty! I don’t think it’s bad if it brings somebody joy! Ah… Eep, s-sorry if that was out of line….
