@Spuddy: Ahh, understandable.

It's been raining most of the week here and it's been making me sleepy.

The soporific effect of storms never ceases to amaze me.

@Spuddy: Same. I sat at my window and just watched the rain while I had a cup of lemon tea this morning.

@Spuddy: Such a mood. It's 7:40pm here. You must be east coast? I'm a big night owl, which is how I make my volts mostly at night. I literally lurk around for wishlist items, haha!

@Whim:

Definitely east coast. I don't mind staying up talking. It's easier than struggling with puzzles. I wish there were an easier way to make volts. How's the art scene, here? Do you know?

@Spuddy: Ahh, gotcha! Yeah me too, wish there was an easier way. Sometimes no one is in the forums, so it's the only way sometimes.

For art..it's only a few users that post every now and then depending on how much art they have to make. I noticed a lot of folks have art dumps but no art shop, sadly.

@Whim:

Well, then, I shall have to start up an art shop. Are you comfortable with pricing? I promise I won't be upset if the market goes counter, it's just nice to have a ballpark figure.

@Spuddy: OOOhh You make art? Cool! Honestly you price it however you feel. I wish I could make art on here, but I don't have a drawing tablet.

What did you have in mind for the pricing tho?

@Whim:

You don't need a tablet for 3D art. I'll put some stuff here that's pretty indicative of my style, but I'm going to have to size it down to match ToS.

Thanks, those are my favorites, too! So what do you think a good price would be?

@Spuddy: You're welcome!
Hmm...let's see. It's 3d, so it'll cost more than usual? I'd say about 8k -12k each? Probably more than that.

@Whim:

You want to help me with this? I'll give you 10% profits, plus one free art a week (if you want it; does not accrue). I'd just want you to chat with me in the shop and give me a poke if I miss someone or forget about something.

@Spuddy: You're very sweet, but you don't have to do that! I'd be more than happy to keep you company in the shop.

@Whim:

I'd appreciate that. Please let me know if it becomes too onerous to do it for free. I know people need their safe places, and monetary exchanges (even in virtual currency) can cause some anxiety for some people.

@Spuddy: Sure thing and will do. I completely agree with that. I used to like haggling prices and doing holds with people to make it easier until they had enough to get the item or just give it to them for free.

Buying Ohms!

Voltie Posted 1 year ago ( 2023/08/10 02:21:12 )
@Whim:

I've done that before, but I find it easier to arrange a payment plan and get paid for each stage of the work in advance. That way, if something happens in one stage that makes them totally change their mind about, or something happens financially and they couldn't pay like they thought they could, they can just pause it until things are better arranged, and both parties still get something out of it.

Also, I've had charity sections for people to pay on behalf of others, and an option to use my own items to mix and match to cut down on prices. It's actually quite cheap, labor-wise, once you've got the startup done.
