I like that ponytail-- my only suggestion would be to separate the greyscale for the 'bow' on a separate layer, so it can be a different color than the rest. I'd love to see that style with like coal hair and cherry bow, for instance. I like the curls--I'm so used to super sleek styles on sites like this, it's nice to see a cute, fluffier style <3
@Slytherclaw: oh that was my idea, i just slapped a gradient over it so you could visualize what it looks like with color haha! but thank you for the input! I enjoy more fluffy styles too so im glad you share the same feelings

Awesome pixels! ^-^ You do a great job! I'm not a pixel artist at all so I can't really offer any advice or input that you don't already know. Doing them in greyscale is already conveniently ideal, as it's easier to define values and block out your shadows without having to mix colours as well; so just keep on exercising your "depth perception", so to speak. 10/10 would buy pixel art made by you ~
@User: Hope you don't mind me sending you a friend request.
@Frossy: DUDE YOU KNOW MY STYLE
its nothing like voltra but its super fun to try and challenge myselff!

@Vii: ahh! thank you vii!!
i think my "depth perceptoion" is really pooor ahha a lot of my pixels tend to be really flat or not have enough contrast :< it helps to have gradients though to get an idea of what it looks like

@User: I have the same difficulty! My drawings / paintings always end up flat or washed-out because I'm so afraid to use too much colour and make things look muddy / unnatural. I've always been kind of poor with colours and values, actually. A lot of it is my own hang ups, I just need to let it all go and let myself do my thing but for some reason my brain is too much of a jerk. c': I think you're definitely on the right track, your shadows look good!
Not sure if it would help with pixeling, but, light studies are a useful tool for exercising your shading skill. It's basically drawing from a reference, but instead of focusing on details like features, you focus on blocks of value, and differentiating them from one another. c:
