I'm sorry if I've stolen someone's hangout/thread title, but it just came to mind and I'm far too lazy to thoroughly look through the forums.

Welcome to the Quiet Corner!

There is a charity for anyone to join and earn a little bit of love and affection volta, ohms, items, and art! I'm actually pretty poor on this site, so I can't offer very much very often, but I will try to accommodate when possible. Otherwise, feel free to chat with me, get to know me, or futz around with me. I'm pretty chill.

@vengeance: That is so neat, man. I'm intrigued! Care to share anything about it? Like food, activities, or traditions? I'd love to hear about it.

@Nebulae: Sure I can. One of our biggest attractions each year is the keukenhof. People from all over the world always come and visit. I however have not been there yet XD We are tullip country number one.

Then we have a village named Bourtange. It is a star shaped village.

As far as food goes we have something called a stroopwaffel. It is a waffel with syrup in it. We also have something called drop. It is a candy.

Adieu mon homme... Où tu vas, il fait trop froid

Donator Posted 7 years ago ( 2018/03/9 20:36:54 )

@Nebulae: We also have something called the deltawerken.
The Delta Works (Dutch: Deltawerken) is a series of construction projects in the southwest of the Netherlands to protect a large area of land around the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta from the sea. The works consist of dams, sluices, locks, dykes, levees, and storm surge barriers. The reason for it is this:

The 1953 North Sea flood was a major flood caused by a heavy storm that occurred on the night of Saturday, 31 January 1953 and morning of Sunday, 1 February 1953. The floods struck the Netherlands, Belgium, England and Scotland. The flood and waves overwhelmed sea defences and caused extensive flooding. The Netherlands, a country with 20% of its territory below mean sea level and 50% less than 1 metre (3.3 ft) above sea level and which relies heavily on sea defences, was worst affected, recording 1,836 deaths and widespread property damage. Most of the casualties occurred in the southern province of Zeeland.
