What are your opinions on it? Is it cool, is the hype too much, will it bring upon the apocalypse?

I think that today should be a holiday and we shouldn't have to work. I mean what with everyone going crazy over it.

I'd be at work even if it was a federal holiday sadly, lol, but I have an alarm set for ten minutes prior to go out today. That said, I'll probably end up actually watching it on baz's site since I don't have glasses and this isn't a total eclipse location

I mean it's kind of cool, but everyone is just going insane over it. Unfortunatrly, I'm in NC which has some total eclipse area in it.

@ghost: I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do that, but I'm sure there will be people that do.

Lol. I think it's amusing that some people think that the world is going to end. I just found out about that yesterday and I literally snorted at my mom. :vanora_xd:
I'm pretty excited that I have the day off. Got a couple of the glasses and my sister and I are going to enjoy it. We tend to bond over nature and junk, so I think it'll be a lot of fun.

@ghost: Oh noes!!! Not the king of emojis!! We need those eyes to work!

But for real, I'm sure they'll be some people that actually do look at it without protection.

I'm quite excited for it. Where I live we'll have 95% light cancellation. We were going to travel about 2 hours away for 100%, but some real life stuff came up.

I am looking forward to seeing it. I found out this morning that my step dad has plates from welding goggles that we can use to view it.

Yep! I thought I would have had to make my own viewing box thing.

@Elithiya: I would, but I'm stuck at work and I highly doubt they'd let us off the phone for it.

I saw it as a pac-man shape. Now it is down to a downwards facing crescent moon.

I watched it a little streaming on NASA's website. But I couldn't see it in real life. I think it would have been neat to watch. I watched the lunar eclipse last year (or the year before?) I actually watched it too. Like, stood outside for 2 hours. XD
I'm an astronomy buff I guess.

It really was a sight to see. I was dumb enough to watch a part of it without glasses, but only stared when the eclipse reached totality. I was one of the lucky bastards that didn't have to leave the house to see it. I just couldn't help but stare at what looked like a diamond with a ring of white around it.
