"Very much so." Ash responded as he sat down across from her.

"I need to remember this place." he said.

"Casey would love it here." he chuckled.

"So how are you doing?" he asked.

"How have the tours been and such?"

"She probably would." Desiree agreed.

"And my tours?" She asked before chuckling lightly.

"Yeah, they've been good. Although I haven't really been doing many lately. I haven't really had much going on, which is definitely appreciated, but at the same time, it's a thing. I am appreciative of the break. I went about eleven months with no breaks... so this has been wonderful."

"How're the hunting and cooking things going?"

"Glad to hear things are well." Ash responded.

"The cooking's as well as ever, and the hunts are still exciting." he told her.

"Which... actually brings me to my question nicely." he then said.

"Now... here's the hypothetical." he went on.

"If you could have a wish. One wish. ANY wish. At all. No strings attached. Would you take it?" he asked her.

"And if so, what would it be?"

Desiree paused a moment as Ash asked his question.

"I... what?" She asked.

"That... I have no idea." She added before pausing a moment.

"I don't think I'd do anything for myself." She then said after a few seconds, before smiling lightly.

"I'd probably use it to try and help Deryck be happy." She answered, which was something was odd. Who would want to do something like that for someone who tormented her as a child and later into her life? It was a way to see how Desiree's brain worked, even after getting a bit of a more real outlook after meeting all them.

Ash blinked a couple of times when she said that.

"...really?" he asked.

"Even after your... history?" he asked her.

When she nodded, he just smiled again.

"Desiree, you're too pure for this world." he told her.

"Yeah." Desiree answered.

"I would love to show him that he can be happy, that life can be all right." She added.

"It's just... it's something that... I don't know, I really do wish that he could ever have a chance to see what it is that he has been denied all his life."

"I... I can understand that." Ash responded.

"You're such a wonderful person." he told her.

He then sighed, and looked around.

"I ask, because... well... I suddenly find myself with that power right now." he admitted.

"Er... well, I have access to that power, to be more specific." he clarified.

"I'll tell you after we have our order taken." he then said, noticing one of the creatures coming towards them.

Desiree was silenty for a moment, not sure what it was that she was supposec to make of that, before the creature approached and took their order. Thbey had a little tablet like device that was obviously used with mana instead of electricity, and they hadn't spoken at all.

After they'd put in their orders, the creature hopped off much as a bunny would, leaving the pair along again.

"I... Anyway, what's going on to spawn that question?"

Ash watched the creature depart, before looking back at Desiree.

"Well..." he muttered, before sighing.

He then explained to her all that had happened. The hunt, the fae, what she was, the power she had, and what her kind were like.

"So I'm stuck with her until I make a wish." he said.

"But I don't know what to wish for." he admitted.

"And I know that changing things in the past can drastically alter the future in major unintended ways." he continued.

"So I need to make a decision... but I don't think I want to just waste this opportunity." he told her further.

"Know what I mean?" he asked.

Desiree sighed lightly.

"That is quite a situation to be in." She told him honestly.

"I'm not sure what I can say for a suggestion, or anything, but ... well, I suppose it's a thing that you can just sit and consider the future." She stated.

"I mean that, seriously. Sit and consider your future, and who you want to be. Do you want to leave a legacy?" She asked.

Ash seemed to be floored when she asked that.

"A... legacy?" he asked.

"....I never considered that." he admitted.

"I guess... yeah, I mean, I have my record and standing at the guild, but that's not forever." he said.

"And my cooking is a hobby really. While I've come up with new recipes, and improvements on old ones, I've never done anything groundbreaking." he went on.

"..." he was then silent again, seeming to be thinking pretty hard.

"This IS food for thought..." he admitted to her.

Desiree just chuckled lightly.

"Yeah, a legacy." She commented.

"I think it'd be something that you should consider." She added. "If only just because... well, I know you said that Ashley was pregnant last month." She added.

"So...." She trailed off before shrugging.

"What kinda of legacy tdo you want to have left behind for your child? Consider that with whatever you decide to go with. Maybe it'll make it easier to decide... or more difficult."

Ash's eyes widened a bit when Desiree mentioned that Ashley was pregnant.

"...you're right." he said.

"Yes. She IS pregnant." he confirmed.

"Hmmm..." he mumbled.

"I have some ideas now." he told her.

"Thank you." he said further.

"You're always a unique perspective, Desiree."

Desiree just laughed lightly.

"I come from a unique situation." She responded with a light shrug.

"It gives me a unique perspective." She added.

"Heh, that's true." Ash agreed.

"So... what is the deal with these creatures, and etiquette?" he asked.

"I'm used to tipping for good service, after all." he said.

"But... how do I do that here?" he asked her.

"Do I reward them in some other way?" he asked further.

"I don't want to appear rude or ungrateful, or slight them in any way."

Desiree just smirked before pulling something out of her pocket and handing it over. They were crackers.

"Here." she said with a chuckle.

"This is something that they absolutely love." She stated.

"Beyond that, there are no monetary tips accepted. They like treats though."

"Hm?" Ash muttered.

"Crackers?" he asked.

"Huh. I see." he said further.

"And I figured no monetary tips were a thing." he went on.

"So how do they do this?" he asked.

"Is this a choice on their behalf? Or servitude? Or what?" he asked further.

"I've never seen creatures that are both so willing and capable of helping and serving people." he commented.

"Completely by choice." Desiree answered with a light laugh.

"I've seen a few that are as pets with people, and a few others that are doing other things." She added.

"It's awesome, really." She then said with a laugh.

"They aren't the most social creatures, but they are most certainly friendly."

"Well, good to know it's all above board." Ash replied.

He then looked, and saw a pair of the critters approach them with their food. Once they got it on the table, Ash took out the crackers that Desiree had given him.

"Hm." he muttered.

"Well, here goes." he said.

"Here y'go." he told the creatures, offering them each a cracker.

There was a bit of silence, a bit of chattering between the two creatures before they accepted the crackers with some quite obvious glee. Desiree just chuckled lightly.

"Told ya they love them." She added as the creatures seemed to be quite thrilled to have them, and each snuggled his legs for a moment before scurrying off.
