Oh wow this is super tough. On one hand, if we reveal the info, it could upset Vivi, and Velvet may not have known the secret. On the other hand, this is a serious situation and Velvet may know.
BUT if we bribe Velvet, she could get upset with us, and we may accidentally learn a secret that we weren't meant to hear. BUT, it could be the same secret we hold as well.
Gonna have to think on this one...

In that case, being honest with her yourself would stress the importance of the situation and how any information might help us. You also would not be violating Vivi's trust, then. If we think about bribing her, we put Velvet's character into question.
Would she, after refusing to tell you because of a girl code, go back on her word to Vivi for whatever we would use in the bribe? If you merely reveal what you know, she could nod or shake her head, or use some other means of confirmation to in essence not vocally breach the power of the girl code.

The ideal strategy would be to drop subtle hints implying we already know the secret Velvet is trying to keep, without saying it outright. She is technically a suspect, so it could be unwise to give her free information. However, I have a feeling she's not going to sell Vivienne out for any amount of baked goods, so hopefully we can do this with a little bit of tact.
