I think, like the cafe, we are already here. And if someone is indeed watching Val, we don't want her to go missing like Vivi has. Plus, if they are connected, it may lead us to a stronger clue. I'm sure Val is well aware of the importance of finding Vivi and would only mention something like this if it was important as well. So I'm going to go with

I was gonna say visit the police department, but what if they don't actually have clues OR they can't share any information yet. This can probably be done later, so let's just investigate outside first because we could find a clue.

@dowan: Bernard stares as you speak, his only movement a twitch of his antennae as he seemingly listens. There's a pause, before the beetle leaps up to steal Vontell's flashlight, setting it on the ground and spinning it towards the wall. Hopping in front of the beam of light, Bernard stands up on his back legs, wiggling his four other appendages as his shadow stretches across the floor and up onto the wall, creating a large black shape. You understand that he's trying hard to seem more menacing, despite the limitations of being a little bug.

@Vontell: I've asked around a bit and have gathered something. Eugene mentioned something about shadows, and I know he is a rat but rats are pretty smart and he has kept vregory alive in the sewers. So... something about shadows must be connected to everything. Do you have any thoughts on this?

We don't have much reason to believe there is a connection between Val's problem and Viv's disappearance but we also don't have much reason to believe the police department will be helpful. So we might as well help Val out while we're here :/
