He turns around and focuses on picking scraps and organizing them to take away later.

Vregory paces around picking scraps all around, but his mind elsewhere. He's begun to do a sloppy job at organizing, and is just increasingly showing worry in his face. Eugene stares at his friend, a sad glaze over his eyes. He nuzzles his face on Vregory and squeaks softly.
...is that good though... what about the scrabs... Eugene makes a reassuring sound, and he nods.
O-ok! We go and we come back when we see things are good, the rats will watch the scrab-- scraps...
He looks around first, then runs off to the direction Virgil had before.

Vregory walks back in, not as chipper as usual. He looks at Virgil and seems lost in thought. Eugene climbs on his head and offers a friendly pat of encouragement. Vregory takes a deep breath, puts a red nose on, and approaches Virgil.

Hey Virgil, look.... is funny right??

He stays there expectantly, waiting for Virgil's reply while looking at him smiling, proud of his goofy nose.
