Honestly, if you like X thing when it's cooked, one should learn how to cook it. But that's just me and my outlook on it.
There's no guarantee that the one who cooks that dish will be around forever, after all. So for if they aren't around, for whatever reason, even if just they are gone away for the weekend and you've a craving, one should learn to cook it onesself.
But again, that's just me.
