Don't know if there are others who are facing down this storm, but man has my area been preparing. Yesterday all surrounding stores have completely sold out of water, gas, MREs, foods that don't need a microwave or oven. Basically all the things you need for a massive storm to hit. Went to get my medication yesterday evening, and the store was cram packed full of people. Of course my family has been prepping too. Some folks are even talking about bugging out. Sadly my family cannot bug out like other people. We have no where to go, and a teeny tiny two sitter truck which can't hold all of us. So send me good vibes y'all.

It's at Saint Maarten right now, where the in laws of cousin live. The streets are completely flooded and the wind goes 250 km per hour. o.o
/tries to mentally make Irma go another way

Oh my goodness! Please try to stay safe. I'm not in the direct line of Irma as I live in PA, but I hear we will be getting a lot of rain from it.

My sister's friend got her a $400 plane ticket to Florida last month. She leaves on the 12th and I'm really worried about her. If Irma is anything like Harvey she could end up stranded there, or worse...

This is definitely not my first hurricane, I'm native to Florida, but right now I live where the trees are a concern.

My boyfriend lives in a lil suburb outside of Orlando, and I'm terrified for him. They have some non-perishables and water and everything ready if they need to evacuate. Still terrified.

@another movie addict: I'm sure you'll be alright. ^^

I lived in Florida for quite some time and have been through my share of hurricanes. It's a terrible time, to say the least, but the darkness will ultimately shed light.

This is not my first hurricane either. I was here for Charley and that was bad enough. All you can do is be prepared and stay safe.

That's one reason why I'm glad I don't move close to the ocean, but right now we are surrounded but fires and the air quality was issued red yesterday.

I really hope everyone affected by both hurricanes and the fires are all right :/ it's been one hell of an end to summer

hurricanes are scary. especially when they keep happening one after the other. i hope this convinces some people in politics that climate changes is real and we can't keep abusing our planet >>

The wind is starting to get rough. She's coming and hasn't weakened by very much.

That is a small favor. I'm at the end of her path really, so there's still some teeny tiny hope that she'll drop back down to a 3.
