@Yuracye: Sore throats are awful
Could be worse tho, right?
Food was great, had some Chinese donuts as well! :P
Yes do that xD

dragoness: Hahaha. That would be great... unless the principal pops in or something. I try to pop things in my desk, and take pieces that way... but the kids are willing to distract themselves with anything rather than learning. > > ;;
I told one of my students that I had one starburst and she was like "No, I saw you eat two!" I was like ????
@nyreen: Yeah, go for it! * A* !!
@rainbowpanda: They really are. I mean, a stuffy/runny nose is pretty bad, but I think a sore throat just makes you feel miserable. D; Can't eat food too- which is the worst!
Ahahhaa. Yeah, I could be bed ridden. xD At least I can still play games and whantot. u vu ////
Oooh, nice! My food just got here, so I'm posting quick before I go eat. Haha.

Yura - Hmm. That would suck that they don't want to learn.
Very observant sounding.
Nyreen - Sounds good! ^_^
@nyreen: YEAHHH! >: 3c
/goes to stalk you??
dragoness: Yeah, I try telling them that they need it in the future and that they'll regret it later if they don't start trying now.
/shrugs.
There's only so much I can do- honestly. x ____ x ;;

Very true. They have to be the ones to want to learn.
Exactly. D:
Even when it comes to their parents too... like I can't force them to do anything about it. q ___ q

@nyreen: Ahhh, I teach 4th grade! So... pretty much everything.
Though, I focus on math more so than anything. q vq

@Yuracye: oh, how cute! you have the little ones. ^^ i work at a youth club with 12 - 17 yr olds during the school year, and during the summer i work at a sleepaway camp with 7 - 17 yr olds.
Just when I'm almost caught up on the items- they release a new one. ||||OTl
@nyreen: Yeah! I asked for K-2, but I'm glad they put me in the upper grades. xD It's nice not seeing the crying... well as much anyway. They get really upset if you tell them they can't go to extra gym or recess. wheeze.
Dang. o ____ o
I thought about teaching high school or middle school... but they're going through so much at that age... and I can't stand the attitude... so .
Eh.

@Yuracye: i often sass them back. at the camp i'm usually with 13 - 17 yr old girls. and this summer i'm running a program with another staff that involves leading a group of 5 - 8, 14 - 17 yr olds. i guess i'm use to it. x) little kids are cute but i can't handle the crying and stuff
@nyreen: Yeahhh, if I say something, sometimes they twist my words and ends up telling their parents, who then need to call to figure out what happened. > > ;;;;
And sometimes they believe the kid over me. Like, what.
Awhman. I can't handle the crying either. They're 9/10 year old, and they cry over things like that. Idk. I don't remembering crying as much as that age. If I didn't go to recess- oh well.

@Yuracye: oh yeah!! that's why i prefer older kids. i worked as a nanny for a 7 yr old for four months and he use to tell his mom i didn't feed him. once we went out for dinner and he claimed he was super hungry bc he didn't eat all day. then i said "dude... i fed you two meals and snacks today" and he went "oh.. yeah!" but before i said that his mom shot me this quick, awkward glance. and that wasn't the only time he claimed that. another time when i told him he wasn't getting tech all day ( no youtube, movies, video games ) he claimed i had yelled at him saying "no no no!! no! you can't do this!" etc and i was like "ah yes, because i yell at children" lmao and his mom didn't seem to believe him. which is good. i don't even yell at the teenagers. i just use my stern voice and tell them to stop arguing back at me, etc. and sass them haha.
@nyreen: Yeah, that's-ugh. I've had older students do that too though. Everyone just lies. > > ;;;
I also had a kid who told his mom that I told him that he wasn't allowed to eat all day long. I was like ??? that's... literally what. There's no way I could even do that. squint
WOOOOOW. I've had students that have said that the teachers don't teach at all during the day. LIke....are you serious. All we do is teach. I can't. xD
I like to play around with the kids, so sometimes I feel like I can say things without them taking it seriously.

@Yuracye: yeah like i enjoyed watching the little one. he was sweet sometimes and had a big imagination, and very artsy. but jesus. i felt like his mom took his word too seriously. it's good that she trusts her child and nurtures an environment where if something was wrong he could go to her but yeah.
@nyreen: Seriously. It's one thing if it's something serious- like I understand if a student suddenly said that their teacher couldn't eat all day long. You'd need to think about that would really unfold. MAYBE the kid is exaggerating. I'm glad she called, because I was able to clear things up, but still. It just seems a little insane.
There's people who will believe their child to the end. That's just crazy.

@Yuracye: it's so terrible. actually the kid i use to watch once told his teacher that his other babysitter had dropped him. she had me and this other person watching him. and what happened was one day the other babysitter met up with me at the stop. and then was carrying him, he lost his footing and fell with the kid but had taken most of the fall. the kid ended up with a scrap that looked 10x worse than it actually was on his back. he complained to his teacher about it, teacher looked and didn't even call mom. it was a month later at the parent teacher interview that the teacher accused mom of beating him. we were like wtf. honestly i can't stand his mom, i could bitch about her all day but the one thing she isn't is a child beater.
