That will go in in the EU. A dutch article just explained it wil also fobid the usages of picture memes since the original pictures are copyrighted and you need to pay to use them. That means we will also see no more movie/tv show gifs. Big companies like facebook might pay for the usage of those but many probably won't. That means those websites need to install a filter that blocks those things.

Didn't hear about that one yet .-.
Where are they even going with this
im still angry about this other law they wanted to push through, the one that's basically conflicting with human rights
tbh they're probably gonna make a lot of loss if this gets through
cause most of it is basically spreading the word/advertising for movies etc
sad, sad :(

No more memes? Good god--that sounds like an absolute disaster. What do they even seek to gain by this? Unless they're going to start a bunch of companies to sell the copyrights to images...
@Vii: they want to force websites to pay the makers of the pictures/music. While Facebook and Youtube make millions, they hardly pay them (if they pay at all, like facebook).
@Tuijp: Well I guess I can see what they're going for, then, but it does seem like it'll do more harm than good.
That's crazy lol. I guess that'll affect Imgur and Reddit harshly. And also YouTubers that so reviews of films, video games, etc?
@Tuijp: First net neutrality in the US and now this c': thankfully the internet is strong. IT WILL LIVE ON!

@nyreen: it will affect everyone who ever uploads anything or uses images online
@Vii: I think there will be a few law suits coming up soon
@Tuijp: damn well I guess I'm going to jail... The coppers will never get me!
Is this the true reason Britain wanted to leave the EU? So they could enjoy their memes in peace?
please ignore me I'm being stupid

Ugh I really hate stuff like this. I hope it's not actually as bad as it sounds.

@Dipper: they wanted to leave before the start of the making of this rule
@Shark: I still rather live in Europe. Less chance of getting shot.
@Tuijp: I know, I was just making a really stupid joke that makes no sense. Sorry
@Tuijp: Okies, off I go XD
