I have to wonder what causes folks to like such strange combinations when according to a test on Food Fact or Fiction combos have some kind of specific chemical makeup or something that makes them compatible to the tastebuds while others not.

We make French toast with milk, an egg, some cinnamon and bread. We then eat it with sugar and some cinnamon.

I smother my french toast in cane syrup. So yummy.

The syrup we have isn't good for that, unless you want to buy a very expensive kind.

Real cane syrup is pretty expensive, and so is real maple syrup. So mostly we just get the cheap flavored corn syrup.

The cheaper syrup here is too thick

On pancakes and such

Ah. Out of the three, pancakes are my least favorite. It's waffles, french toast, pancakes. I do like them just not as much, they're always so dense and thick. They also taste good smothered in cane syrup though.

Our pancakes are pretty thin.
Waffles are best with either powdered sugar or chocolate sauce, whipped cream and strawberries.

They eat them in Belgium, where they are from, as a kind of pastry

Yeah, I've seen a lot of places that do it that way. Like you're supposed to. Too me though, it's just a yummy breakfast food.

I usually have oatmeal for breakfast

Normally my breakfast, if I eat breakfast, is whatever is leftover from the previous night's dinner. Or whatever junk food we have.

I never have junk food or dinner for breakfast. Can do that for lunch, but not breakfast.

Dinner is the only meal that gets made, and usually ingredients are off limits. Because food is bought for specific meal counts. XD so I eat what is there to be eaten. Mostly though I just don't eat breakfast at all and only drink coffee. So I guess breakfast and lunch are the same meal.

I don't always eat breakfast either. Lunch here are bread with, for example, butter and cheese.

Lunch is usually pb&j or whatever's still left. Assuming I eat lunch that day. >w> there have been days where dinner is all I eat.

My mother often did that. If I don't eat lunch, I get light headed.
