Honestly I didn't hate DmC but it was pretty repetitive, and seemed almost try-hard. It was enjoyable enough tho

I'd say it's worth the $15 or whatever if it goes on sale. I personally don't find much replay value in it, as it's not like things can change between playthroughs, but I'll pick it up every year or so just to play with the controls, as the weapons and fighting system are pretty satisfying. I only played one of the original DMC games and found they were harder and more lore-heavy than the DmC reboot.
It certainly doesn't hurt that Dante is easy on the eyes tho. I actually prefer him with black hair. xD

Oh my! If you're both recommending it for the mechanics, then I certainly have to give it a try. Hmm, I think the whole set was on sale recently, but it seems to have passed...

My favorite game was 3! My favorite character is Dante because like... goals? I've always been one for the badass archetype, and it doesn't get much more badass for me than the original Dante. C;
Though admittedly, a lot of the scenes in 3 were impossibly cheesy, but the choreography was nuts. That very first cinematic that was in trailers where he's fighting demons in his office is one that stuck with me. I'm such an edgelord. orz
I also really liked 1! And 4 was alright! Nero's gameplay was cool. C;
