@Rallaa: Australia is in my top favourite countries. They played against France yesterday and I almost shouted at the tv.
@Rallaa: they defeated Germany and no one saw that coming. They also won from South Korea.
Belgium and England are doing very well.
@Tuijp: Yeah, I didn't see anything about that specifically, but I randomly found art referencing the games, with the teams personified as anime girls.
@Tuijp: And in followup art they did, they drew these anime girls doing lewd things to each other. Mexico did lewd things to a lot of the others, so I figured they were winning a lot.

My number 1 is England of course <33 So far they are not disappointing, but lord knows they are the red sox of football, so we'll see how the fare after the group stages. After England I am rooting for Mexico since the US didn't qualify XD
But Tuijp since when has Belgium been an underdog? XD I would assume them one of the favorites to win, honestly I expect them to beat England in their last group match and would have no surprise if they won the whole thing. If not for Garret Bale I feel they definitely would have made it to the finals of the last euros. IMO the underdog of the tournament has to be Iceland or Australia, and I would be happy for them if they won <3
TBH I will be happy as long as Portugal doesn't win, but I just really don't care for Christian Ronaldo ;;>.>
Also super bummed Netherland didn't qualify, I was a fangirl for Robin last world cup! XD A lot of surprises with people who didn't qualify. >.<
On a side note the time zones suuuuck for me this world cup, England's match against Panama was on at freaking 5am so of course my ass didn't wake up for that even though I intended to. Missed Kane's hat trick ;_____;

@Luffer Nutter: Belgium hasn't been in a world cup too many time and in the European cus, they're always out pretty fast.
Iceland does well since a few years. They made the youth stop drinking and made them go into sport. Last European cup, they did extremely well and their fans were the best fans ever.

The Netherlands hasn't done too well the last couple of years. They weren't there for the European cup either and the selection rounds were a laugh.

I guess to me they're not an underdog because I consider them better than England, but maybe England is an underdog too and I just never thought of it that way because my blood biases my opinion? XD I mean shit we didn't even get out of the group last cup...

Robben is a good player, but I was always more a fan of Kuijt. He's down to earth and a good guy, on and off of the field.
The only thing I know about soccer is what I learned when I played it as a really young kid.
Which is to say, I don't know the rules at all, because I remember just thinking I had to keep the ball from the opposing team, so I just kicked the ball out of bounds on purpose. The coach would always be like "Good job. Good job" cuz I was a kid. That just made me think I was doing things right, so I did it more. That was during practice.
Then on my first game, I had been drinking gatorade all day because I thought it made me run faster. I showed up at the game, puked on the field, and then went home. I didn't play soccer after that.

@tuijp: I knooow lots of upsets with qualifiers this year, I was pretty shocked about Italy not making the cut, but I am not a fan of their dirty play style so I was happy about that XD
