I am allergic to cats.
Sometimes when I'm visiting my mom, her cats like to sit on my lap.
And I try to push them off without pissing them off and making them scratch me.
But they'll be super stubborn and won't get down.

cats can be little attention hogs.one of my cats insists on climbing up by my chair, up behind me then climb down into my lap from the left, getting right between me and my laptop. which is the center of my attention. she knows what she's doing, she wants to be the center of attention. otherwise she would be content with sitting on my right.
Cats only act like attention hogs to those who they like or love XD see it as a compliment?
