Lol I also came away with a healthy respect for people with severe mental illnesses and the caretakers in charge of those people.

I have a lot of respect for anyone working in health care

I had a general respect for them, but witnessing what goes on first hand. It was a learning experience.

My brother and mother had to stay in the hospital before, so I knew it already

A lot of my younger years were spent in hospitals, since my dad was always so sick. But what the staff was going through never came into my mind once.

When my mother was in, I was 9 and wanted to know how everything worked and what everything was. I asked the doc a lot of questions. Few months later, my brother was in and out. I was bored there, so I liked helping the nurses.

My brother and I weren't really allowed to do much, except sit in the play area for children. By the time we were old enough for the Intensive Care unit why my dad always was, it was too late. So to me all of that was always just a really depressing cold place.

Not here, don't know about other hospitals but here you had to be 12 or older.

The hospital my mother was in, even called my uncle to hear at what the the kids would come. They would make sure a doctor would be thee too, to answer our questions.

Mostly we were left with random people while my mom went to visit my dad. Sometimes we'd even sleep in the car while we waited. It was all very rough living.

I liked going there. Mostly because I hated my uncle and aunt.

I'm not really fond of hospitals either.

Actually none of my aunts or uncles would watch my brother and I at all. They were too busy or whatever. Well my uncle was in jail, and the other uncle is an abusive pedo so there's also that. But we were left with like a meth junkie and her boyfriend with their kids, or with this crazy religious zealot. My childhood blew.

My uncle was an angry man who hated everything. F.e. he wouldn't allow his sons to play with any kind of dolls, because they would grow up to be gay.
His wife was a fat, ugly, lazy and stupid woman. If I asked her for help with my homework, she didn't understand any of it.

Yeah I can see why you'd rather chill at the hospital.

Yikes.
Okay, I'm adopting you both now.
I mean my family sucks but not that bad.
Wow.

^w^ it's all good now, most of the offending parties are dead or in jail. The religious zealot who'd call me and my brother heathens and wouldn't let us touch or do anything died a few months ago.
