An article has been floating around about kids over the age of 12 facing jail time/fines for trick or treating in certain towns/cities.
I suppose they are trying to prevent shenanigans happening on Halloween night, but goodness. I'd much rather a teenager be out collecting candy instead of the tons of other awful things they could be doing...
Let kids be kids!
Here's the link that I saw originally if you're interested.

That's ridiculous. I'll give candy to a fucking sixty year old if they're trick or treating, people need to learn how to chill out.
That cannot possibly be legal... Even if the city could it would EASILY be appealed at the state level
eeee ee eeee smoke weed everyday
(legitimately googled if this was pg-13 appropriate because I try to be a respectful stoner. So like you're welcome teenagers)
Working on a new signature.
PS-I LOVE PUGS
@whatajoy: I know! like dang- if you want candy, lemme give you some candy! I'll compliment your costume and everything!
@luffer nutter: Surely it's not something they'll reinforce... That would be so sad

No. Equal candy rights for all :<
I get trashing houses and halloween decor is misdemeanor but I don't understand how trick or treating - basically knocking on doors with a greeting - counts as misdemeanor D:

@Mousy: They don't even need a costume for me. I don't care who it is, so long as they're just trick or treating and want candy hahaha
Giving out candy is all apart of the fun, why are people being so shitty about that? Like you said, better trick or treating than doing something else like vandalizing other peoples property.

Hello! Tia is currently speaking:
... the jail thing seems a little extreme, like c'mon it's just people asking for candy.
...And have a great day!
tbh i should really be doing my homework
Since when was the Halloween spirit of being nice and giving free candy to people only reserved for kids under the age of 12??
The statement in this article doesn't even make sense. "A 13-year-old trick-or-treating is fine" and then "we're gonna fine anyone over the age of 12 that's trick-or-treating"
??

Could you imagine being a parent getting a phone call that your 16 year old was picked up by the police for trick or treating?
Let me get this straight- they weren't underage drinking, there were no drugs involved, they weren't harassing anyone.... and you have them in custody?

Please ping! I get distracted easily.
@Mousy: I can imagine myself being one of those parents that literally fights the police because it's so absurd wtf

I think there is a moment in every childs life where everyone tells them they are too old for Halloween, and they take it to heart... then they grow up and realize they can do whatever they want at any age.
