Rene made his way back to his place, and spent most of the rest of the day there, pondering Kalin and her well-being.
The next day, he was at work again, and was in his office. He was sitting at his desk, thinking about Kalin, and of the necklace that he was wearing.
'Time's getting near for this thing to wear off.' he thought.
'Wonder what'll happen when ghost Mom returns...' he thought further, before sighing.
"More importantly, what's Kalin going to do?" he then asked himself. "It's abundantly clear that the University won't be safe for her..." he mumbled.
"Other than my offer, where else CAN she go?" he wondered aloud.

Rene was left without an answer, not knowing what it was that he could do to help the girl more than he already had.
All he could do for the moment, is wait and see what her answer was.
After a few days, he approached Kalin, who met his gaze.
"Hey." She said with a wave.
"To answer your question, I don't think I have any other options." She then said with a light sigh, "But that doesn't really mean it's an issue. If your offer is still on the table, then I would like to accept it."

"I assume they're all right with you living off campus, but can you risk going onto the grounds for schoolwork?" he asked her. "Or have you worked out another deal?" he then inquired.
Internally, he was wondering if she had. Charlene WAS understanding and flexible, after all...

It was the weekend, and only a couple days after Rene had asked about how she was feeling. She was able to go with him after he finished his shift, and she was absolutely relieved.
As it stood, she was waiting in the room for him to come pick her up, especially since the break was horrible in her leg. At least it was healing well, if nothing else. He'd gotten her a new change of clothes that she was now wearing - a tank top, a light sweater, and a denim skirt because of her leg, along with a new pair of shoes that weren't bloodstained. Of course, she only had one on at the moment, what with her cast.
