You should totally be able to collect all the event items from the Solstice Calendar.
Look for it in the header, next to the box that tells you what your volt are.

Also in the header on the homepage, you'll see a flying ship that grants you daily stuff. You have a chance of getting volts or items, and during this event you'll get an extra holiday item.
It might not be activated for you right now, but at 12am voltra time tonight, it should start to shake around. That means you can collect your daily chance.

Yes.
When you quote a post by someone, it will put their post into your post.
This can be good if you want to respond to a specific thing they said.
But people often have post styles, so it will add that in, unless you edit it out of your post text. (Edit: and as you can see, it can cause problems with it conflicts with your own post style.)
For example, I edited the quote I did from you to remove the cat and moon image from the quote.

People generally just use the @mention feature because it's simpler and you can mention multiple people in a single post without it becoming a huge stretchy mess of a post.
