The feline made her way closer to Ty's face, nudging it slightly and licking it.

But there was no reaction.

Tyson was still stiff, he was still cold.

And he wasn't breathing.

And he hadn't regenerated back to life, as he always had.

The other thing she noticed was that the cat was very clearly uncomfortable in the room. She didn't want to be there for... whatever reason.

There was silence on the other side of the phone for a few seconds.

"Excuse me?" Sharp asked.

"Dead?" he asked her.

"What do you mean by that?" he asked further.

"He's been dead before, but that's never been an issue for him." he commented.

"....or... do you REALLY mean it this time?"

Again, there was silence.

".....hmmmm." he mumbled.

"I... can think of... well... ONE possibility." he admitted.

"And that's..." he started to say further, before pausing.

"That's... his heart stopping suddenly."

"WE can revive him." Sharp responded.

"We'll send some teleporters to get him here." he told her.

"In fact, they'll be on their way in the next minute." he clarified.

"Are you coming with them?" he asked.

"Or staying there?"

"We'll discuss it later." Sharp responded.

With that, he hung up the phone.

Sure enough, about 40 seconds, later, a pair of Unit medics, teleportation unit, appeared inside her home, by the front door.

"Upstairs?" one asked Miki.

When she nodded, they both hurried upstairs to take Ty to the Unit.

After waiting what seemed like an eternity, one of the medics approached her.

"Right." they said.

"Got him here just in time." they told her.

"We were effectively able to jump-start his heart to the point where he would register a sudden death from without." they explained to her.

"...or, to put it another way, in layman's terms, we jolted him into a state of 'alive', before promptly killing him." they summarized.

"He's regenerated now."

"Well, we want to run a few tests, but they should only take a few hours." they responded.

"We want to make sure he's regenerated to full functionality." they went on.

"Ie: check his heart, his brain, the vital organs." they listed off.

"He's actually conscious if you wish to speak with him." they then told her after a pause.

"We normally wouldn't allow visitors so soon, but we do know you live together, and are quite close to each other." they reasoned.

Tyson, laying in the hospital bed, turned and looked at her... before smiling slightly.

"Yeah. I know." he replied with a chuckle.

"Sorry about that, kid." he apologized.

"I never expect to die in my sleep, and I never expect it to stick." he admitted. "Especially since I do all I can to make sure my inner workings are tip-top shape." he went on.

".............." he was then silent, before looking at the ceiling.

"Christ." he muttered.

"Just... that was... yeah, that was a rough night."

"Well... that's a bit hard to explain." Ty responded.

"I remember being in a dream." he said.

"Wasn't a particularly nice dream, but it wasn't a nightmare either." he shrugged.

"Then... I dunno. Things started to go black. It felt like the space was closing in on me." he explained further.

"Then the last thing I remember was... eyes." he went on.

"A pair of crimson red glowing eyes."

"I can't." Tyson responded.

"But, all right, entertaining the thought that this is what's happening, and it's the result of an outside force... because that's what this seriously seems to be..." he mumbled, trailing off a bit.

"...what now?" he asked.

"What do you propose we do?" he asked her.

"How do we deal with something that, for all intents and purposes, is a dream demon?" he asked her further, before pausing for a moment.

"...not that it's literally a demon, that term just rolls off the tongue." he reasoned.
