Forums General Chit-Chat ★ミ Bullet Journals

Donator Posted 6 years ago ( 2019/02/5 01:20:53 )
@anarchist beauty: I love the idea of bullet journaling!
I started one on lined paper, but I couldn't stick with it because it wasn't the look I was going for.
There are so many beautiful and magical journals on pinterest that are drool worthy. T_T I worry that I wouldn't have the time to dedicate to making it look how I want it to look and if it doesn't look how I want it to, I'll give up on it.

BUT knowing that Michaels has them for $5 is making me want to try again...

I think that my dream one would be a journal with pages that I could remove and re-insert if I need to, but still with the dots. I always worry about not allotting enough pages or wanting to move pages around.

Please ping! I get distracted easily.

@Mousy: I knoooooowwwww!
Honestly instagram and pinterest can be incredible pools of inpiration and ideas, but it call also be a soul sucker because not everyone has the kind of skill or time to dedicate to things like that.
BUT the important thing to remember is that your journal is for YOU and no one else.
It took my awhile to not hate my bujo, but I just kept telling myself the same thing I still tell myself "if you don't like something, change it".
So I have gone through a TON of designs for monthly and weekly spreads.
And if I don't like something, I'll change it next week, or month. (I kinda draw up months at a time instead of single weeks at a time, so sometimes I have to wait. lol)

YES! $5 HAD ME! It's why I bought one monthe before my old journal ran out, and then I literally just stopped using the old on to switch to the new one cos I couldn't wait any longer. XD

I love 'books to read' pages.
They're so cute.
I currently have just reading log pages and a "book bingo" page, kinda neglect the Book Bingo though.
I filled it with books I own that I haven't read yet, trying to encourage myself to read them and well.... Didn't work out to well. XD

Mood trackers are relatively new to me.
I put one in my Feb spread this month, so we'll see how it goes; if I like it or continue to use it for the whole month.

Ah, yeah. Page movement is something I'd like too.
But I'm also not sure I'd like a binder style one. lol
But hey, experimentation is key.
Though my current journal is probably going to last me through the entire year, so I'm not going to worry about future journals right now.
Just pages and spreads!

An idea of what a smashbook is like. The RWBY page is from when I went to see the premiere of season 5 in the theater. the hiking page has pics from my favorite trail. Lol an tags because I thought they were neat. Basically you 'smash' whatever you want into your journal.

@Another Movie Addict: Ah, I see. Pretty cool.
I have something kind of like that, a 'junk journal'.
It's really tiny tho and i don't have much in it yet. lol
I've got like an opening page where it has "hello" in a couple different languages, a page where it's got the definition of my name and stuff, then a few other random pages just stuck in it (a Captain America dvd insert, a page from an Adam Lambert cd lyric book, etc) Just some junk.

I've got a few other completed smashbooks, lol one with the wrappers of Japanese candies I've tried. Stuff from different conventions, just fun stuff I've done. Ironically though now that I go on more adventures to record, the less I focused on my smashbooks.

@Another Movie Addict: That's cool.
I remember I had something like that years ago, before I ever knew what any of it was.
I just had a composition notebook that I would tape shit into and what not.
I low key miss it now. XD

Your adventurous life is too distracting! lol

I started doing it as a kind of therapy, and it really helped.

@Another Movie Addict: I did it to quench my insatiable need to Keep Shit and also Tape Shit In/To Other Shit.

Om nom nom candies.

I only have four journals. But yeah they really helped me with my depression and isolation.

Always good to have a hobby, something to do to keep your mind busy.
My bujo kinda helps me in that way too.
Looking up stuff, actually doing the pages, just keeping my mind and hands busy so things don't get too bad for me.

It was the isolation that it really helped me with.

Your journal is your friend.
I'd say a non-judgey one, but I'm pretty sure mine has judged me before. XD

Mhmm. It gave me a way to get excited about something with 'someone'. XD granted now that I have friends, I've been less dependent on journaling.

I wish I had friends, but all my friends are online and spread out across the country. XD
Cos NOBODY in my town or anywhere close to it interests me.
(I live in Hell.)

I made all my current friends because of a whim. Lol getting stuff for my smashbook. Went to a convention for journal materials/adventure. Wanted to go and have an experience to create a page for. While I was there, went to a furry panel. Best decision I ever made.

Dang, I want something like that to happen to me.
That probably requires leaving my house though... xD

It's really not. I hate it.
Girl can barely even go to the grocery store for basic foods without dying.
Then I need a week long break of hiding under my blankets.
