My cats have always had their normal name when we're cuddling/hanging out and then another, more serious, name when they are being bad.
Example-
Ellie = "Eleanor"
and when she's really in trouble, she goes from "Ellie-Belly" to "ELEANOR THE BELLANOR"
Emmy= "Emillia-Badillia"
Millie= "Millicent, The Cat!"

It’s mostly by to tone.
Kuwabara- we kind of elongate the Ku like “Kuuuwa.”
Yusuke- his is kind of snapped out in a really deep tone vs how Im usually high pitched “Yuuuusuke~”
Mikasa- we call her Mikasa instead of her nickname Mimi

he knows he's messed up when you loom over him like, "olliver..... what did you do?"
i should note, when he's done something, he is SO bad at hiding it. he will lower his head and slink around.

My youngest cat and dog get cute nicknames all day long, but I will call them by their actual name when they do something wrong.
My other cat also get cute nicknames during the day, but, when he does something wrong, mostly going after the chickens, I call him fat ass.
The other dog, no matter what you call him, he won’t hear you anyway. He will be 17 in less than a week.

I just swear at my pets whenever they do something bad. Sometimes I throw out a nice little 'hey dumbass'.
Lol! You guys are cracking me up with the swear words at your pets! I think I only swear at Eleanor when she comes up and bites me for no reason. Usually, it's a "ELEANOR THE BELANOR DON'T BE SUCHA *insert first swear word that pops out of my brain at that moment*"
She's my stinker cat. She's such a jerk half of the time.
Millie's only downfall is that she loves to eat whatever I'm eating. We have the closest bond, but she can't live with me. She's 17 years old and I don't think she'd survive a 10 hour drive.
She's super healthy and active, but road trips really take it out of a kitty.
Emmy was a flat out gangsta, but we cool. She was pretty sure she was a dog I think. She passed away last year.
