"........" Evan was silent as Blair said that, his ears twitching slightly.

"She works a lot, huh?" he asked.

"That's gotta suck." he said.

"Just... hm. Yeah." he muttered.

"Don't... really know what to say beyond that..." he admitted quietly.

Evan bit his lip slightly when he heard that.

"Part-time job?" he asked.

"...as what?" he asked Blair. "What do you do?" he asked further.

'...his mother works that hard?' he thought.

'Maybe... maybe I was all wrong, earlier...'

Again, Evan was silent.

'Wow... I was... WAY off base...' he thought.

'.......now I feel like a heel...' he thought further, slumping back into the couch.

"I... I see." he said.

"I... well... I suppose every little bit helps..." he mumbled.

"Oh, how's your Biology going?" he asked.

"Been making any improvements?" he asked further.

Evan nodded in response.

"Well, it's progress." he said.

"We keep it up, you'll be doing more than just passing." he went on.

"I know you said it's all you really wanted, but... well... perhaps we can bring it up a little bit more. At least have a nicer number on the report card." he reasoned.

"My uncle says that 'good enough' is a path to a dead end." he went on, referring to Ash.

"...but he tends to overdo certain things, so maybe that might not be as applicable here..." he then admitted quietly.

Evan looked out the window as well, seeing the car.

"Well, I guess you'll be heading out." he said, before he noticed his father going to the door to greet her.

"Eh?" he muttered.

"Normally you're the one that goes right to meet her. Or goes outside to get in the car." he said further.

"Something different happening?" he asked.

'...was I wrong about being wrong? Is Dad going to confront her?' he then asked himself internally.

"Oh, huh." Evan responded, as he shifted a little, sliding out from under Kitt.

Kitt responded by making some disapproving noises.

"I'll be back in a few minutes." Evan told her.

That's when they heard Lindsay and Blair's mother speaking with each other, though their words could not be heard until they got closer, and even then, they just managed to hear the end of part of it.

"I assure you it's no inconvenience." Lindsay said to her.

"It'll take some of the stress off of yourself, at the very least." he reasoned.

"Ah, excellent." Lindsay replied.

"I can arrange for rides to get Blair to their sessions with myself, as well as the art therapy sessions they have with my wife." he then offered.

"While those won't necessarily be personal rides, I do know I can arrange something. I assume that will be all right as well, as long as I let you both know what said ride will be?" he asked.

"Indeed." Lindsay replied.

"The next time Blair will be here is for an art therapy session in 4 days." he then said.

"I'll have a ride arranged to bring Blair here, while I personally take care of the ride back." he told Blair and their mother.

"I'll call tomorrow with the details of it." he went on.

"For now, I'll not hold you up any longer." he continued.

"I'll let you both get home." he finished, stepping out of the way so Blair could get their shoes on.

Evan looked confused, but waved back.

"What is it?" Lindsay asked, looking at him.

"It looked like Blair was smirking about something. Or... well, it looked like he was smirking. But what was he smirking about, if he even was?" Evan responded.

Lindsay just chuckled.

"I guess that will be something you discover in due time." he told him. "Or not." he added another small laugh.

When she had told him that Blair would not be coming in for any appointments any longer, he had had enough.

"Why?" he asked.

"We were making good progress in them." he said.

"Especially the art sessions with my wife." he went on.

"Why are they suddenly cancelled?"
