There are a few places with cliffs where they had to put up signs to not stand on the edge for a picture.
Many people have died that way.

She would more than likely be using it to garner pity/attention. Which is a crappy thing to do.
I know a lot of people who have done that sort of thing to get people to pay for their med bills etc.
