Forums General Chit-Chat I'm so scared D;

Donator — pancake Posted 6 years ago ( 2019/04/13 23:00:22 )
I really want to change my vertical labret.
Monday will be nine weeks since I got it pierced.
I soaked the bar I want to change it out with in alcohol overnight...
But I'm so scared.
When got my ears pierced last I changed them after a month or so and they got infected and I just took them out.
Idk what to do.
I'm just so ready to be able to do something with my face.

If you’re scared, you can always ask your piercer to do it for you the first time

@Tuijp: Unfortunately I don't have a way to get to their location.
I don't drive and life alone. =/

Do you use alcohol to clean your skin around your piercings?

Kai says...

@blinkini: u should be fine as long as u have been cleaning the skin around ur piercing, when i got the top of my ear pierced i would clean it with warm salt water, like when u get ur ear lobes pierced
it shouldnt get infected if everything is kept clean ^^

Thank you for listening!

@Peachy: &
@KairoSama:

I use a saline solution. It no longer hurts or has any discharge.

@koneko: It was just my ears. It might have been because I was stupid and got them pierced at walmart because it was free. =/

@KairoSama: Bet. I'm gonna do it. >:|

@blinkini: the free piercings are usually put in with yhose piercing guns and they don’t clean those well enough between piercings.
They’re fine if you use them on 1 person and clean in between, but nothing more.

@blinkini: i have a labret, it is s lot harder to become infected than ears are.
There is a possibility that your ears ar sensitive to metals, mine hurt every time I put in cheap earrings.

Personally, saline solution is good, but I like to use HOT sea salt water, I hold that pierced area in it for about two minutes.

The lip doesn’t take long to heal, so if it’s not already infected, you’re probably fine to change it and do whatever

Guys, I did it...
But the only bar I have is a size smaller than the one I had in.
I decided I didn't like the feel of the smaller one and tried to change it back after twelve hours, but I couldn't get the bigger one in.
Then it took me ten minutes and a slight panic attack to get the smaller one back in.
I feel like such a wimp. D;

yeah the vertical labret will close fast esp if it is a fresh piercing (9 weeks is still p new in my book)
you might have to go back to the piercer if u want to put a bigger gauge in, but i know you said u don't have any way of getting to the piercer?

@blinkini: is pretty normal for a piercer to use a bigger size when they put the piercing in.

I moved from a 14 to a 16. The problem now is that I'm wearing an externally threaded instead of internally threaded, so I'm constantly having to make sure it's screwed in all the way. Definitely learned my lesson from all of this, that's for sure.
