"Hopefully that'll be a start." he went on.

"Regardless, if you want, make yourself a mug of coffee, and tell me what you think of Abby." he then finished.

Ashley just sighed,.

"I came out of it all right, think I busted a few of her bones though - amazed she was still standing when I left for that matter." She said.

"As for my thoughts on the girl...." She trailed off before sighing as he grabbed her a mug.

"well..." She started before going into detail regarding how she was actually pretty good. She could tell that Abby had taken a few hits intentionally, just to put herself into a better position for the future. It was a good sign for someone who wanted to be strategising things.

He listened to all that Ashley had to say, nodding at the end of it all.

"All right." he said.

"I can guess what your thoughts on this are, but I have to ask." he went on.

"Does she make the grade?" he asked.

"Is she a good fit for this guild?" he asked her outright.

'Probably not the best as one to collect the animals and like, you know, as you and I often do." Ashley answered.

"But beyond that? Definitely." She added.

"She'd possibly do very well here. As long as she doesn't end up suddenly lashing out and going after everyone with mana."

"Then we'll have to be ready for that possibility." AJ replied.

"That being said, I honestly don't think it'll be an issue." he went on. "After all, she was raised by mages, and she even had alone time with Desiree... apparently made NO violent or hostile moves towards her." he said further.

"So it seems she has it well reigned in." he commented.

"That being said, your approval is all that I needed." he chuckled.

"Need to get her back in here, talk with her previous boss, and make a decision based on all that." he told her.

"Again, sorry about the scare." he apologized once more, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.

"You know I'm not fond of being left in the dark. Vana did that enough when we were younger that I have a really nasty habit of connecting it - and not in a good way - to less than pleasant things." She explained.

"I'm going to head to Emelie to get checked. That girl dealt one hell of a solid hit earlier, and I've got one hell headache blossoming now. Want to make sure it's not a bloody concussion." She added.

"Love ya too. See ya." Ashley said. With that, she left him to his own devices.

Ash was waitin gfor a bit, about half an hour, before he heard a knock on the door. After beckoning entrance, the door opened and he saw Abby poke her head in.

"Hey, was told you wanted to speak with me." She said as she stepped in and closed the door behind her.

"Have a seat." he told her.

When she did, he sighed, and shook his head.

"I'm going to need to know who your last employer was." he said.

"I need to get into contact with them. I need to hear what they have to say." he went on.

"Especially since you've worked for another guild as your past job." he continued.

"Or... well, at least tell me the guild you last worked for." he then added.

Abby sighed. She had already expressed that she hadn't wanted to tell him the name of it, but that was primarily because she couldn't even remember what it was. She told him WHERE it was, and that it was the only guild in the area, so it wouldn't be hard for him to figure it out - she thought.

She had no idea how to deal with this situation, either. If she admitted she didn't know, it'd likely not look good on her, and if she just said she didn't want to tell him again, then she'd be coming off as A) pushy, and B) as if she was trying to hide something.

She just sighed again after a few seconds.

"Dunno." She then said, figuring that if she fucked it up now, it's better than fucking up later.

"Look in Germany."

"Imperious Umbra, then." AJ responded quietly.

"Very well." he muttered, putting the phone on his desk on speakerphone, and dialling a number. The phone rang for a few seconds, before a male answered.

"Yeah?" Abby's old boss' voice rang out.

"Dunkel, it's AJ." the man before her responded. "Need your opinion on a former employee of yours. Abigail Cox." he said.

The man was silent for a moment, before launching into a veritable tirade of venom and insults, downplaying her whenever he could, and ranting about how she was a hunter. It went on for close to 5 minutes, before it seemed he ran out of steam.

"...so I advise you to stay as FAR away from her as possible, and have NOTHING to do with her." he finished.

"Thanks for the information. I'll take it to heart." AJ responded, before ending the call and looking at Abby.

"And I intend to seriously take what he said to heart." he told her seriously.

"You're hired."

Abby sighed as she heard her previous boss lighting into her in his way, before pausing. She had no idea what it was that was to think of it all, specifically, and was almost scared to know AJ's thoughts on it all.

After he said what he did at the end, though, she just paused and looked to him.

"I... what?" She asked.

"After all that?"
